Review: I ordered a washing machine from [redacted]. I will be reporting them to the Revdex.com as well. They use A&B trucking for their delivery, but I think they are in cahoots and it's a big scam. I chose improper or inferior service as the primary nature, but, see below, I have a long list of complaints. They are a delivery company. They called with a delivery time on Friday at 3pm, for a delivery on Tuesday from 1-7pm. I called back immediately to update the contact information for the delivery and the office was closed. I spent 2 hours on hold or disconnected on Monday May **, trying to contact them to update the info. Their recording incorrectly states their office hours. It says until 6pm M-T and 5pm on fridays. I called on friday at 4 and was told the office was closed. Regardless.

I finally got in touch with someone and gave them new contact info. and they assured me that it was updated and our building manager would be contacted for the delivery.

I am a flight attendant, I was flying and landed in Newark at 11:57am EDT on tuesday and had a voicemail that I couldn't understand (more on that later.) They called me an hour before the window, they didn't call the updated contact, and they said, you aren't answering, the delivery is off. we can reschedule. It wasn't in the delivery window and they didn't call the right person! When Shane, the manager, called them, before the 1pm window, they said, nope too late, rescheduled for friday (of Memorial day weekend) between 4-7. I called and insisted it be delivered that day and they said no. I then spoke with someone who agreed that I would be refunded the 29.99 and he would talk to [redacted] about the refund of the $40 and return my call.

He didn't return my call. I called [redacted] the next day, she agreed to the refund of the $40, but placed me on hold and called A&B freight, and said, he never told you he would refund the 29.99. That is a BOLD FACED LIE. It is now a week later and I haven't been refunded anything and I am still contacting both companies.

After that, we received emails that had the window on friday from 1-9, 3-7, etc. Which one is it?

There were more problems with the delivery on Friday. They weren't there when they said they would be, they are impossible to contact and cost our condo association money, paying someone to be there an extended amount for the delivery. Also, they we paid for white glove installation and they didn't install it completely, cost an hour labor to get it installed, and left the packaging there for us to discard.

In closing:

The inappropriate behavior by customer service personnel

The driver who called on Tuesday, an hour before the delivery window, called me! at thursday night at 6pm to chat? Not sure, he asked who I was and where I lived. Could I have called the police? This is a truck driver/delivery man for a trucking company who is calling customers on off hours. He should only use those numbers for deliveries and it is not ok to call them for fun on a Thursday night. He knows where I live! scary!

The company has failed to correct billing errors

I was promised a 69.99 refund to my credit card.

Unauthorized changes to the contract or agreement

The delivery window wasn't for real. It was all a lie.

Customer service failed to provide assistance

A&B Freight is virtually impossible to reach and when you do, the customer service agent promises you something or assures you something and then that "something" never comes to fruition, whether it be the refund of the 29.99 or the updated contact information.

The failure to respond to phone calls or written requests for assistance or support

I have written emails and spoken with customer service, no response. They don't care. They are a scam.

The late delivery of products

I already covered this,

The company failed to honor a verbal commitment to provide refunds, exchanges, or credit

And, I covered this.Desired Settlement: I want the promised 29.99 that they lied and said they never promised and the additional refund of the $100 labor to complete the installation of the washing machine and coin box. A total refund request of $129.99 from the freight service.

At this time, I have not been contacted by A & B Freight Service regarding complaint ID [redacted].

Sincerely,

Review: I purchased an item online through AppliancesConnection (also located in NY) and it was arranged to be delivered using A & B Freight. This was the second purchase in as many months, as the first item I purchased through the same vendor and delivered by the same company did not fare so well. The item itself was mostly to blame; however, during the ordering I marked that the item was to be delivered down stairs (a ~200 lb. wine fridge). The delivery men chose to use a two-wheel cart and bang the fridge (and compressor) on each of the 14 steps. Nonetheless, I took care of that first issue with the actual fridge manufacturer and purchased a replacement.

When I purchased the replacement I wanted to ensure that if the same shipping company was used again there would be more care used, like straps vs. cart, and this time their 6 hour delivery window would be slightly better than arriving with literally 5 minutes left. Therefore, AppliancesConnection ([redacted]) and myself spoke with a very customer-friendly guy named [redacted]. He was extremely accommodating and would ensure straps were used and the delivery went off without a hitch. The week of my delivery I spoke with [redacted] who confirmed delivery on Saturday, 20DEC between 9-3. I was to be the 5th stop, so it would likely arrive around noon. There is also an e-mail that was sent confirming this. On Saturday I happened to be checking my e-mail because I was in the hospital on Friday tending to a friend who was hurt. Lo-and-behold there was an e-mail saying my delivery date had changed to Sunday now. So much for that customer approach, as there was no phone call from [redacted] or [redacted]. On Sunday morning I spoke with [redacted] and he assured me things would be OK. Roughly and hour later the truck arrived--expect when I mentioned hand straps the two men looked at me like I was crazy. I immediately called [redacted] and his only response to the men was "they were suppose to tell you." Must have been the same people who were suppose to call me on Friday about the delayed delivery. They proceeded to take the white, plastic tie straps on the outside of the box and re-purposed that to carry the item down the stairs. I'm sure [redacted] would love to see this practice being employed because had the straps broken and either the delivery man and/or fridge been damaged there would be litigation from both the employee and myself.

Once the item was delivered to the basement instead of listening to me and using the hand cart to move it 6' the two guys proceeded to 'walk' it. However, this time they merely drug it against the concrete floor and left black marks from the rubber feet.Desired Settlement: The worst part is there was no delivery fee when I purchased through AppliancesConnection, so they cannot do anything. However, they still have to turn around and pay A & B Freight. Due to poor business practices, lack of customer service, using illegal and dangerous labor practices, and showing a blatant disregard for my property I'm asking that A & B reimburse payment back to AppliancesConnection (or remit a check directly to me) in the sum of $250--a fair market value to ship a roughly 200lb item from NYC to VA.
