To be brief, it is the consumer that is unhappy with their selections of cabinet and flooring and counter top. Consumer has no previous experience in design but wanted to act like a designer. After re doing the back splash three times, the wife said she wanted it back the way the first time we did...

it, at that time I refunded their monies for the labor of the back splash and brought them the material so they can consider someone else to do their back splash. the flooring was signed off on a customer satisfaction sheet , basically saying that the tile on the floor was good. Now they want to complain. the install of the cabinets was done by Cabinet City who is a licensed cabinet installer, and the cabinets came from their warehouse. The consumer was given this information , but they did not pursue it, because they are after monies to redo their terribly picked out kitchen choices of color and style. All work that was not tiling was done by licensed sub contractors. The consumer at the last minute was making changes, especially with their appliances. Proof of this , their choice of the hood was so bad that they looked towards me for help, I had to order the proper hood and install it the best we could by our appliance installer. They brought a large expensive outdoor stove top and insisted on us installing it in their indoor kitchen, it is huge and did not fit properly. The wife of the couple was constantly making last minute changes that it was very difficult to manage the installations, the installers that were paid , refused several times to redo their install just because the wife changed her mind. She was constantly looking up online examples of kitchens and insisting on installing items that were not the initial items talked and written about . This couple tried hiring an attorney, but once the attorney spoke to us, there were no more further actions on his part. We plan on going further with a suit to recover our balance that the customer still owes us. The wife supposedly turned out to be pregnant, well maybe she should not have been the decision maker in choosing material to install. I mean after three times of changing the back splash, then she decides that she wants it to be like the first time we installed it. It is a wonder that some people think that they know how to design kitchens and they insist on certain items to be installed just because they saw it online or in a magazine, even when a veteran designer of 18 years was trying to advise them not to do certain things, but they insisted , especially after coming back from their accounting work and having a couple of glasses of wine which was a regular event in front of the workers. I believe that the couple are inexperienced and made the wrong decisions on their choices, thinking that they knew about what they saw in magazines and online, and now they have regrets. We have operated and installed material by the industry standard, and we feel that they do not know what they want. after signing a satisfaction form they are still complaining about the floor when nothing is wrong with it. Also the base board is what they picked out from a box with a huge selection. They chose the material , we did not. And I believe that is the main issue her , but they cannot admit it. We installed everything correctly, we did not admit to their punch list like they stated. But it is normal to have a punch list after all funds are in and to be a little tweaking of this and that because this industry is not perfect and it is not machine installed it is hand installed . They currently do not have any warranty on the install because they have not paid their final bill. And even when they were complaining about certain items , and when the workers were assigned to go and investigate to repair if needed , they were rejected entrance to the residence.  This is a more planned out attempt to recover monies to redo and replace material that they chose and now regret. We even asked to see any contractor bills that they have for repairs after they refused us to enter to try to repair, they could not supply any .  I could go on with more detail, because I have logged every move and oral and written request and conversation that was done between us, but it will need more space and time. Many times talking with the husband, and we would start moving in that direction and had purchased material , then the wife would contact us and change the request , material and items to be done. I have most of the "change of order forms" in writing that they signed, but I could not keep up with most of their changes. Revdex.com needs to know that we were not the first contractor on this job, there was a previous contractor that had started the job , he had made several mistakes, i.e. crooked walls and crooked beams, unstable sunken floor covering and more. We took on the task of repairing all of these problems and did not charge the home owners for it, but once we started into this job we found many more important mistakes that we repaired without charging the customer any more money either, hoping to get the customer good faith back towards this industry. They had stated that the first contractor was  charging them too much money and the items and installs he was doing was incorrect, that time they were correct in saying this, but it was too obvious, even a monkey could see the improper methods and the crooked walls and walk on an unstable floor that was supposed to be tiled with 48x6 porcelain tile and see that it moved. I had to insist to the home owners, if they were, or their parents were , that that unstable floor needs to be redone, either by me and I would charge them to do it, or by the previous contractor , which they still owed him a balance that they were not paying. So they were able to get the previous contractor to redo the floor filling , and it was still not properly done 100%, so we worked with what we had. Many times they kept trying to get their "family friend unlicensed worker to come in the middle of the job and do certain items that I was insisting not to do due to the code and to the fact that I did not know this person that they wanted to bring in, and they kept comparing the charges from AB Kitchen to the charges of this family friend and complained all the time so as to get AB to lower their industry standard pricing, which we did for certain items to please the customer and to not create confusion with two different workers from two different companies working on the same project.                                                                                                    Really this company did not make the normal profit of a job like this, due to the constant change of the home owners minds and the purchase of material that was not able to be returned. Normally just to keep the peace I would offer them that they do not have to pay the final owed payment, but these homeowners went out of their way to hurt our business and deliberately brought it to a personal level . Our attorney is in the process of filing proper paperwork in the courts for two reasons, one the balance owed and two , of what they wrote on a public site. As far as AB Kitchen and Bath is concerned , these people owe money, and they are trying to get out of it and trying to get more back to redo the chosen material that they are now regretting they chose. And they have no idea about design even though they insist on it through out their remodel. AB has many satisfied customers with good reviews, the only time a customer complained , and over a long period of time, were a few that did not want to pay their last payment and knew it would take much more money than what is worth it for AB to pursue them for the balance. This industry is not in favor of the contractors, they are in favor of the consumer who is without knowledge of the industry. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact AB Kitchen and Bath.
