The flexplate on this vehicle does not affect the operation of the transmission Therefore, I am not reimbursing any repairs on the transmission

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:Mr. [redacted] You and your staff are responsible for the vehicle while it is in your care and throughout the warranty. You failed to rebuild my vehicle’s original transmission correctly and by your own admission had to install a different “new rebuilt transmission”. This attempt failed even more so than the rebuild because you damaged other working parts of the vehicle by NOT installing it to factory specification and leaving out parts. The flex plate connects the output of the engine to the torque converter of the transmission. The torque converter and transmission are the cause of the flex plate failure and that is the area you and your staff worked on. So yes, the flex plate does affect the operation. I don’t understand how you do not see this as fault. You or your staff failed to install the transmission correctly which caused damage. On top of that I have had to deal with these issues – long listed, review if you like – for several months. Surely you are aware of the complaints and since the install you have done nothing but dismiss my complaints. That in turn forced me to use another ASE certified center. You did not fulfil what I paid for and you are not honoring the warranty so you should not have a right to any of the revenue. I gave you plenty of chances and/or options to correct this but, you have declined all of them. You need to reimburse due to failure to deliver and for the damages you or your staff caused. Anything less is not acceptable.

The flexplate on this vehicle does not affect the operation of the transmission.   Therefore, I am not reimbursing any repairs on the transmission.

I am rejecting this response because:The rebuttal from AB Transmission is inaccurate at best. I observed AB Transmission’s receptionist physically write down that the vehicle has a noise issue (humming at the time) on the large calendar that sits at the front desk. I also watched her type into the computer. In which, Bill confirmed with me as I drove out of the parking lot. The tapping sound came after that and is what drove me to another mechanic but only after numerous attempts to work with AB Transmission and them dismissing my last two complaints. “We test drove with customer and did not experience the customer's complaint when the customer said he thought it was the torque converter.” Then why did Bill the technician make a general diagnosis that it was the mass air flow sensor. Obviously, Bill experienced something but he dismissed it as being transmission. The statement of me not willing for the vehicle to remain with AB Transmission is false. Period. I had my vehicle with them on multiple occasions. What I insisted on was an approximate time frame it would take each time because the second time it was in their possession I was asked to drop it off at 8:00 AM and was told – when I called at 2:00 PM – that it had not even been looked at. In fact, on the last day I came to the shop Bill said I did NOT need to leave it and would take it to the lift as a I wait. I waited 43 minutes while he did the inspection. Only to be told it is NOT transmission related. “We have not heard of any proof that the dowels caused the flex plate to crack.” I offered photographic proof from [redacted] in my email correspondences, which you dismissed.Yes, the replacement of a salvaged (which took extra effort to find) flex plate seems to have finally corrected what I presented to AB Transmission as a torque converter problem but that does not exempt them from being the cause. The missing or misaligned dowels from the “new rebuilt transmission” they installed caused all the extra I had go through to get my vehicle on the road again.

This place is horrible. They have incompetent mechanics, probably not certified. The Mgr Joe is a half truth telling con man. All they want is your money. I'll never go back or recommend this place of business. I gave this establishment 2800.00, yet to told I'd have to pay for another part. The incompetent mechanic thought was fine. I couldn't drive over 40 miles a hr because the vibration was horrible. Joe (MGR) said you have to pay for a drive shaft and we will install it free of charge. When I went to get my truck, they charge me labor. I was ecstatic, I paid and left. HORRIBLE SERVICE...
