Abbey Service West, Inc.

I needed a service to fix my air conditioner that I bought from [redacted] (still under warrantee). Called their service Dept and they set up an appointment by Abbey Service West Of Brooklyn, NY. to come to my house and fix the AC.
When Abbey Service came they said that indeed the AC was still under warrantee but that it needed to be "cleaned" at a cost of $125. I said I did not want the cleaning.
The service man said that it would not take the AC to their shop unless I agreed to the cleaning. It seems to me that in order to fix the unit (which they get a flat fee) they drum up business by this cleaning scheme.
