On Saturday, June 25th, the business owner ran into the customer at the *** *** event, the place where the necklace went missing. The owner then learned from the customer that the necklace was missing. The following email exchange took place: -Monday, June 27th at 10:am: the
owner’s employee emailed the customer about her missing necklace and offered to help resolve this with her insurance company. -June 27th at 10:am: the customer emailed back saying that she had filed a claim with her insurance company. -June 27th at 10:am: the employee emailed customer back expressing the hope that the necklace would be found. -June 30th at am: the customer then emailed on asking for a refund of the business’ design fee. -June 30th at 6:pm: the business owner responded by email, saying that a refund was not possible since the necklace was not defective, and must have been either lost or stolen while in the customer’s possession-June 30th at 9:13pm: the customer emailed again asking for a refund on her custom necklace-July 5th at 12:54pm: the business owner responded by email, again stating that the necklace was not defective in any way and that a refund on her custom piece was not possible. To date, the customer has not responded. The above listing of email exchanges is to show that the business did respond to the customer, despite what the customer claims in her complaint. While the business understands the customer's frustration and disappointment in her losing her necklace, we gave her a handmade necklace setting of very high quality and craftsmanship. The chain and clasp used are industry standard and are manufactured in the USA by a very reputable company that has been making chains and clasps since 1944. If a necklace is made anywhere in the USA, chances are that its chain and clasp are both manufactured by the same company that we use. We have been using this chain and lobster clasp approximately years, and both of our staff goldsmiths have been using this chain and clasp as well, for approximately years. We have never had a clasp nor chain just spontaneously break, nor have our goldsmiths. It is extremely unlikely that the chain or clasp were defective, and we believe that the customer’s necklace was most likely stolen. Lastly, all of our custom jewelry is non-refundable and non-returnable, which is clearly stated on all of our invoices. That is our policy and is standard in the custom jewelry design industry. We have offered to remake the necklace at no cost to the customer once she has a replacement stone through her insurance company, but we cannot offer a cash refund
