Review: I went to the office of Nu Ear to get a free hearing test. In about 30 minutes, I had signed a paper from Dawn S[redacted] that had put me in over $5,000 in debt. She had already notified HealthiPlan finance company owned by Comenity Bank and had be approved for a $5,000 loan for her hearing aids. Later, I discovered that she wasn't honest with me at all because the ad in the paper had a coupon for that very day for $1,000 off, which she didn't even offer to me. I told her after I heard how expensive the hearing aids were, that there was no way I could afford them. A payment of over $100 a month was not in my budget because I just lost my husband and I still have a car payment after I had to refinance it and have two more years to pay on it. I told her that every month after I pay my bills, I had to go with about $100 for two weeks until payday came again. This didn't seem to matter to her at all. I've taken the hearing aids back to her twice and they were returned to me by certified mail. The finance company told me to take them back to her again and record my voice saying, "I'm returning these hearing aids for the third time because I can't pay for them," and leave. Then I have to call the finance company and tell them I did what they told me. Hopefully the contract with them will be cancelled, but I doubt it. The owner of Nu Ear, Dawn S[redacted], does not take "no" for an answer, because I cannot afford them. She is tough. This all started on January 12, 2016, and the $1,000 off coupon was good for only that day. I'm 78 years old, and I can get along with a much cheaper pair of hearing aids in the future.Desired Settlement: To have the hearing aids returned to Nu Ear and the contract to be cancelled.

I recently had an hearing exam done at ABC Hearing aka

(CanuHearwell) at 1441 E Broadway, Mesa, AZ 85204 on April 14, 2013 at 10am. Upon arriving at their office I was asked to fill out some forms and then sign a document that had some items on it which I did not agree with. So I declined to sign the form. When I went in for exam, I was asked why I did not sign and I informed them I did not agree with some of the things they were saying I would agree to. At this point the male trainee grabbed the paper and scribbled something on the my signature line right in front of me. The following week the Owner called me and told me that the female hearing specialist told her that I was interested in buying the $7000 pr of hearing aids which was not true at all. Told manager that was a lie and I never agreed to anything like that.

On May 9th I was invited to full explanation meeting of the pros and cons of hearing aids which I attended. I wanted to do another comparison hearing test. I called ABC to retrieve MY hearing medical record. They would not release my record. Went for another hearing test on May 16, 2013. Dr. office had me sign a release which they faxed to ABC. They called ABC and were informed ABC refused to send my medical record to them and ABC also told the doctors office that they were going to shred my records. Audiologist doctor then informed me that they were doing ILLEGAL things. First, it is my medical record. Second, no medical records are to be shredded for a period of 4-7 years. I feel that they should be penalized for these illegal procedures. I would NEVER EVER recommend anyone to go to ABC Hearing Center (Canuhearwell.com).
