ABC Moving Company

I received a phone call about (two) weeks ago, by a family member that was related to one of our seniors that we had moved June 19, The senior’s name was *** *** contacted our company very distressed and needed our assistance helping her move out her furniture immediatelyIn
visiting with the senior we found out that she didn’t like the apartment she was in and discussed at length her dislike of this placeI visited at length quite a few times prior to her move to her new location*** told me she would pack all her belongings, and only need help loading and unloading her items and furnitureAs our men arrived the day that was scheduled for moving they found a very distressed seniorIt appeared she had no family or friends to help her at this very stressful timeSome boxes had been packed, but she stated that her hands were too weak to pack anymore of her belongingsThe guys were not prepared to pack boxes of small items, and her belongingsKeep in mind we pack small items and belongings 1-days prior to a moveThe guys moved most of her furniture and the boxes that she managed to packShe asked if the movers if they could come back the next day to move the rest of her belongings and any boxes she would be able to packThe guys went back the next day to help her and finish the job, but no one was homeThey tried to contact her and no one answered the phone number on fileKeep in mind we did not charge her for the trips that was made to the location trying to check on her situation and to finish the jobWhile most companies charge customers for their trips and/or drive timeWhile in the midst of this move we lost out on other work and job that day to prioritize her move, as she was in distressWe finally found out she fell and was in the hospital, and she called and asked if we could come back to finish the move at that timeAgain when my movers arrived nothing was packed still after all this time*** was stressed out, because she did not want to pay another month’s rentShe then asked the guys to load what they could, and some of the boxes she prepared were half packedWe are not responsible or liable for any packing of items that the clients do on their own, only our packing and boxes are coveredThat being said the movers worked hours the following Wednesday, hours on Thursday, and hour on Friday to expedite her moveThere was no family and there to help her with this move and the guys said it was a mess, stuff was everywhere and there was tons of little stuff that still needed to be to be packedThey finally helped her pack towards the end after they had moved the items and furniture that was readyWhen they got to the new apartment on Sunnyridge in Nampa, all the boxes did not fit in her new place, so the movers had to bring boxes back downstairs to a storage garage to be storedWell days later I get a phone call from a family member who said we took advantage of a year old woman and over charged her plus we had broken her belongingsFirst of all, I genuinely feel that we undercharged her, and *** our lead mover actually spent hours of his own time in order to help her*** our lead mover also stated that there were family members were on the other end of the move opening boxes and putting stuff awayI feel there were a lot of handlers of those boxes on the other end of this move bringing stuff in and outThe family member stated that she was going to go to the Revdex.com and facebook to ruin our reputation, and she was going to get a lawyer to sue our companyFirst off we are not responsible for boxes that are packed and prepared by the clients, also days is a long time and many hands were on the destination side and moving boxes all aroundOur insurance covers cents per pound unless they want to pay for more insuranceBesides all this, my feelings are that the family member calling was not there for the move during the most stressful time during ***’s transitionWe were there to help, console and move her when her family was notWe went above and beyond on this move and feel that the family is trying to get money out our company for something that we are not responsible for or have caused The lady who called was a daughter-in-law and very argumentative and I could not talk or reason with herI pride myself on being a very fair businessman, but once in a while you come across these types of issues and peopleI would just like to wash my hands of this situation and move forwardShe said she took pictures of boxes stacked heavy ones on light ones in the garage, but once again our guys are professional and know how to stack boxes and if people went in afterwards, and got into stuff and put back the other stuff we are not responsible for that scenarioThis is the best I can offer from the facts I gathered from my moversThank you for your time and consideration in reviewing and sorting through the facts.Sincerely,*** ***
