fuel tank was damaged, and needed to be towed back here to repair his vehicle. I told Mr. [redacted] that we normally did not do out of state towing. He asked that since we had worked on his differential in September if the work we did was under warranty because he thought that was whar had failed. I told him we would repair anything that we had repaired free of charge if the truck was in our shop. He agreed to that and asked for me to arrange towing. I told him the normal tow charge from Checker Towing Service would be $1200.00 but I could get it done for $800.00. He said to get it done. I asked for $200.00 up front which he has paid. I also told him we would have to replace his driveshaft and repair the fuel tank to get the vehicle to drive so we could find out what happened to the truck. He agreed. We went to Texas, brought the truck here, replaced the driveshaft and repaired the fuel tank. We drove the truck for 20 miles, and found no problem. So we dismantled the differential anyway, just to be positively sure. We removed the differential carrier and ring gear, looked it all over and put it back in the truck. We saw no reason for the driveshaft to break. When the driveshaft broke it slammed into the fuel tank and broke it. We repaired it also. We can only assume Mr. [redacted] ran over an object in the road, or put the gear shift in reverse going down the highway. We only did the repairs that had to be done to drive the truck, which he knew we were going to do because the truck was not able to be driven without it being done. He still owes for towing which is $600.00 he has paid $200.00 for the driveshaft and the fuel tank repairs. Thank you, [redacted]

The 200 was provided for the tow. I said I only wanted work done that feel under the warranty. Had I been informed of their findings I would have chose to scrap the vehicle. The shop did work I did not want done. I will pay remaining balance on tow but I refuse to pay for work I did not authorize. I am still waiting to be contacted as to when my truck will be released and work has been undone on it. I have attempted to contact the shop several times, my calls have not been returned and last time I was on the property the owner called the police. He said I was trespassing after I disputed the charges. The owner stated he would take the truck apart and I would not get anything from him (including a bill).

I will pay the remaining tow balance and half the repair cost work if I understand the propasl correctly. My big issue was that I was not contacted prior to any work being done and had additional costs I was not expecting. If per this agreement the vehicle has not been disassembled as was indicated I will pay the tow balance as well as half for the repairs. I would only request that in the future a customer be contacted prior to any work being done that was not expressly consented to.

We only did the repairs that were needed in order to be able to drive the vehicle. Nothing extra was done. It was necessary to test how it worked, and it worked great, the vehicle drove fine. The vehicle could be released at any time. Could a compromise be reached, if we agreed to half the remaining balance? The customer still owes $400.00 for the tow charge. Please let us know.
