Review: I contacted [redacted] of ABC TV repair to fix our TV. He came to our home and removed the TV to bring to his shop for repair. He brought the TV back fixed, however the frame or bezel was scratched on every side. He didn't take the care or didn't have enough common sense to put a blanket down on his workbench to that the bezel would not get scratched. So we told him we wanted a new bezel. He was clearly pissed off, but I told him, "I gave it to you unscratched, I want it returned the same way". He said he would order a new one. After a few weeks when we didn't hear from him, we called and he said "it was on back order". He has not returned a call or email since September 2013.

I am sorry that he learned an expensive lesson, but this is not my fault, and my flat screen TV was returned damaged and I should not have to pay for his stupid mistake.Desired Settlement: I don't want to sue him or hurt his business, all I want is a new bezel. If not, I will take him to small claims court.

Response:

Unfortunately, this call has now required ABC TV Repairs to have a strict contract signed for every call. This call and this TV was accurately handled and the TV issue was properly resolved. I did acknowledge the scratch on the bezel and did indeed attempt to order a new one. The bezel is impossible to get and has been on back order, or completely unable to order, since August. We have not ignored any phone calls and continue to tell [redacted] this is the issue. Upon notice of the scratch, we allowed [redacted] to pay only $150 for a $325 repair, giving her almost a half price repair. Under industry standards, meaning if you would take this to [redacted] or another repair location, the $325 would have been charged and the repair place is under no warranty to fix any issues that occurred while fixing the TV. If you are having surgery done on your ankle, the doctor is not responsible for a broken wrist that occurred while you were walking into the hospital. Our job is to repair the TV and we make it clear that any other issues that arise are not our responsibility. Like I said, this client has unfortunately made us issue strict contracts to each customer now, something we tried to avoid by being a friendly, small business. If the customer would like her $150 returned, we can do that. We cannot get the bezel and we have not forgotten. If she wants to wait, we can do that as well. If the $150 is returned, her warranty for the part and repair is thereafter considered invalid as well. Again, we cannot get a new bezel. This is not us being "stupid" it is simply the fact that the bezel is unable to be ordered. Unfortunately, many customers, as this one, takes "on back order" as us ignoring the situation. This is not the case and we clearly cannot get the bezel. If she would like to take the TV to another place to try and get a bezel ordered, we could work with her on reimbursing the price, only if it is purchased for a fair price. If this occurred, we would not refund the $150 as again, the repair was properly done.

If you chose to get the $150 refund, the warranty would be invalid, meaning we will be returning and removing the parts we purchased from the TV. We were hired to make the TV work; therefore, we will be taking the parts back that we purchased if we refund the $150.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

All 4 sides of the bezel is scratched. If The bezel is impossible to get and has been on back order, or completely unable to order, since August I should have at least had a return call. All of my calls have been ignored regarding this issue, I will gladly hand over phone records to prove You have not returned a single phone call.

Upon notice of the scratch during the return of my TV, I said I wouldn't pay YOU until you replaced the bezel , which you agreed to.
