ABCO Recycling and Document Destruction Service

I visited the website for ABCO Recycling and under the Paper Shredding header I clicked on the "click here for more information". It states the following:

$10 Seal N' Shred Bags
•Great for those with less paper or business overflow
•Purchase our sealable bag at our facility and fill it at your convenience
OR
•Bags can be mailed to you upon request ($10 per bag + Shipping and Handling). Call for more information.
•Bag can hold 25-35 .lbs
•$10 includes the price of shredding
•When bag is full, bring it back to our facility
•100% Recyclable

I called the morning of Friday March 4th,2016 to clarify the above offer. I asked the female employee that answered the phone about this offer and she said that I could come in and purchase the bag. I said that I would just bring the papers with me and fill the bag there. She said that I could only purchase the bag but not fill it there. I said that I would take the bag out to my vehicle, fill it and then bring it in to be shredded. She said no, that's not how it works. She said that I would have to purchase the bag and bring it back another day to be shredded. Since this facility is a far distance for me to travel, I asked why I couldn't have it shredded the same day. She said because my way of doing it would be "ripping them off". This made absolutely no sense to me so I asked how it would be ripping them off if I'm paying the same $10 for the bag. She couldn't explain to me how this was ripping them off, it just was.

I was taken back by the rudeness of this supposed customer service employee and her inability to clarify her "ripping them off" accusation. I called my daughter and asked her if she could call them back for me and see if she could talk to someone there that could explain the reasoning behind this procedure. She reached the same person that I spoke with. She was told the same thing as I was told and when my daughter asked for clarification since this made no sense, the very rude employee answered with "it's a rule, all companies have rules", and she spelled out "R U L E" and said "write it down" and then hung up on my daughter.

I called them back on the following Monday morning March 7th,2016 (yesterday) and a different female employee answered the phone. I asked her if I could get the contact information for the owner of this facility and asked her if it was privately owned or owned by a corporation. She asked me why I wanted to know. I explained to her that I wanted to let the owner know about an experience I had with an employee on Friday. She said I'm sorry I can't help you with that and hung up on me.

I'm writing this review because of being unable properly address this very negative experience with the appropriate contact person within this company. I'm extremely disappointed with the way this very unprofessional, rude employee is being allowed to treat customers. If there is a rational reason for this procedure with their $10 Seal N' Shred offer then they should at the very least be able to explain it in a dignified manner.
