Ted was hired to raise the canopy of our spruce in the backyard. The agreement was to cut it 6ft up from the ground and to trim away from the house.
He ended up sending his inexperienced son to do the job. His son cut it an extra 4ft, so it was cut at least 10ft up from the ground. Also, it was cut several feet away from the house instead of just being trimmed. When I came home and saw what he did, I called Ted immediately and asked him to come over and look at the disaster his son made. This kind of tree will not grow back (I do have before and after pictures). We now have no privacy on that side of the yard and the value of our home has decreased. When Ted arrived I showed him what happened and he said it had only been cut an additional four feet and tried to make excuses for his son. Ted then asked what I wanted to be done and I said I wanted the tree to be replaced. In response, he started yelling, pointing at me and said that I was "shaming him." He said I would have to take him to court before storming off.
