To Whom It May Concern;
On July 22, 2015, 4p.mElizabeth F (Sales Manager), and myself, (Heide H-Operations Manager), met with *** and *** *** to discuss their concerns
They indicated that they had one key issue with their event and that was not having any leftover food boxed up and
sent home with them after their event ended. In addition they felt that because they had a drop in guest attendance at their wedding there should have been a lot of extra food available for them to take home. They also indicated that they did not think it was appropriate that our staff was taking food home in a to go box when they were not able to do so. We let them know that first and foremost the staff was not eating, or taking food home, that they paid for. Our chef's prepare extra food for our staff at every event that is catered. Our clients do not pay for this food, Abernathy pays for the staff food that is prepared. Secondly, some of our staff prefer to eat after their shift and are allowed to take food home and eat at their own risk. With regard to them having a lower guest count than anticipated this is out of our control. Even if a guest count is lower than expected their wedding party may have consumed a lot of food. The amount that each guest eats is varied
Our policy is to prepare in advance a honeymoon bag for the clients with all the food that is on their menu along with champagne or sparkling cider. We prepare this the day of their event so that the food that is sent home with them is fresh and food safe. It goes into the cooler and is stored until their departure. This food is not taken from the buffet the night of their wedding to ensure food safety
We empathized with *** and *** position and resolved to have our chef's prepare food for people with Prime Rib and other similar items that were on their menu that day. In addition we offered to include champagne so they could celebrate again! We set a date of August 14, for them to pick up their food for
At the conclusion of our meeting they indicated that what we proposed was acceptable to them and we adjourned the meeting on a positive note
Going forward we resolved to make an addition to our contract so that our clients are fully aware of our policy prior to their event
We are a highly regarded and very successful wedding venue. Our number one goal is to take care of our clients and help them to create their wedding day as they envision it. We have been "Best Of" winner with Oregon Bride Magazine 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2014. We do our best to correct any issues that arise for our clients in the best way possible
