Hello, the said car did arrive dismantled and ended up costing $2,000 due to needing a Valve Job.  After the work was done and the car was road tested, there was no check engine light and ran fine.  On the vehicle’s 2nd visit, we never did mention that the car needed Cam and Crank Sensors,...

but did need a camshaft actuator.  The diagnosis of the other shops was a visual check and not a thorough mechanical check.  The customer authorized the work to do the camshaft actuator, and after 30-45 minutes called back and stopped the work.  We ended up cleaning the actuator just to get the customer going, and temporarily resolve the issue for the customer, however; the customer refused to pay the diagnostic fee. 3 weeks has gone by since we have last spoken to the customer.  Out of the 60 days the customer mentioned, the vehicle was only here for about 6 working days.  The damage has been done prior to any repairs being performed here, and we only rectified those damages; which were the bent valves.  We understand the customer is frustrated, but it should be towards the other shop.  The camshaft actuator is damaged internally, and needs to be replaced.

Hello, the shop ([redacted]) brought the vehicle here and not the customer; we are not aware of what the conversation was between the customer and [redacted].  The customer stated the car was in the shop for 60 days, during that time we had it for about a week.  It is hard to distinguish what happened to the engine and why the valves were bent; it could have been due to age, mileage, or staff at the other shop. The car arrived and would not run due to engine problems; after diagnosing those problems we only saw a solution to resolve that problem.  Abe’s has a good reputation for the good quality of work, and the word of mouth is out there, if you want the car repaired right, it’s at Abe’s Complete Auto.  We are the sublet repair shop for [redacted] and many other shops, any letters and demands should be towards [redacted].  We did NOT do the engine bearings, but a valve job.  We did not tell the customer the car needed the cam and crank sensors, but did need a camshaft actuator.  The warranty applies to only repairs that were done on the car at our shop. Thank You

[[Hello, first of all this is the first time I learn that I had a valve job done on my car. I was told that they changed the engine bearings. When I brought the car to [redacted] for checkup it was on good running conditions. I don`t think you could drive a car with a broken or bent valve! The valve was bent after the new timing belt was put on. I just discovered that I paid for a service my car didn`t had problems with at first hand (bent valve). The check engine light come on 5 miles away from the garage I didn't wanted to take the car back the same day because when I got the car they were closing. I took my car to a mechanic near my house and I was told the code on my car computer is timing belt related. I took the car back to Abe's Complete Auto Service next day. I asked about the warranty policy and I was told the car is under warranty as long as it doesn't pass the 12 000 mile from the time the repair was done. I ask them what the problem was. Abe's Complete Auto Service manager told me that the car needed a Crank and a camshaft sensor and they would fix those for me for $400. I had an emergency overseas; when I came back I had both sensors changed with a differentmechanic. The check engine light was always on; I took my car back to Abe's Complete Auto Service. I told them what happened, they said the car needs a camshaft actuator and not the sensors; and that it would cost $700 to fix the car. Abe's Complete Auto Service denies doing any timing belt work on my car; even though, the attached receipt show that I was charged for timing belt and even for towing the car from the first shop. The reason I refused to pay the so said diagnostic fee is that I paid $2000 for a job that my car didn't need and the car was still under warranty. The code on my cars computer is timing belt related. The Reason I called and stopped the work is that I lost trust on what I was told; I couldn’t believe what I am told anymore. Like Abe's Complete Auto Service said in their first response: "The damage has been done prior to any repairs being performed here, and we only rectified those damages; which were the bent valves". I am only wondering why should I pay for repairs to damages that were not on my car. Why should I  pay for someone else mistake. I paid $2000 to Abe's Complete Auto Service and I do have receipt of all said done work on my car.  [
Regards,
