We were doing business on a regular basis without any problems Then our sales rep left We were assign another rep that never contact our company Our rates were increased without notice The company also refused to take responsibility for lost packages, even though the destination terminals acknowledged that they were not received We have had to pay ABF over $for freight charges in addition to replacing lost shipments at no additional charge to our customers
We have found another carrier that is providing much better customer service
"I ordered a 3.5 ton Heat Pump condenser on July 17th. The product was shipped timely with an unreliable freight company, ABF Freight Company.
The shipping terminal in Kinston, NC received the shipment at 8AM Friday the 24th of July and were not going to deliver it until July 30th, because they only had one truck with a lift gate. Lisa at the Kinston Terminal, required I get permission from AC Wholesalers to pick up from the terminal dock. I called, and got an email with a statement approving pick up from the terminal. I gave a copy of the email paid to my installers and paid them $100 to drive 180 miles only to find out the ABF would not release the shipment to them. ABF failed to inform me that I personally had to pick the shipment up!!! I then had to drive the same 180 miles to pick the shipment up.
This whole experience of buying from AC Wholesalers was spoiled because of the shipper they chose. The Kinston Terminal representative, Lisa, tried her best to be rude, non-helpful and uncaring about doing a good job.
I hope to be reimbursed for the $35 I paid for a lift gate delivery, but probably will not. The ABF terminal in Kinston should not get paid for non-delivery, but I am told they will get their payment anyway." So why should they care if they give good service!!
P.S Only, Carlton apologized for the inconvenience ABF caused.
