with the insurance after the procedure and the insurance stated that they would not pay so we send the patient a bill. We were on the understanding that the procedure was covered as they usually do. We had dismissed this patient from our office once before and she came back asking us to take her back and we did. A big mistake. We have written off the amount owed, but, she needs to get another provider to service her child from now on. Thank you.

Review: I recently took both of my children to get their teeth cleaned. My insurance pays 100% of routine cleaning. I was called to the desk after they had went in, and the receptionist asked me if I would like their teeth sealed. I told the receptionist that it would be fine IF my insurance covered the whole amount. She informed me that indeed my insurance did cover 100% so I agreed. I just received a bill from this office for $156.46 for, you guessed it, sealant. I called them and the office manager was extremely rude and unprofessional. He said that they call before hand to let you know how much the insurance will pay but in this case, I would still have to pay for the sealant. I feel that I was taken advantage of because this office knew I would not have agreed to the procedure if I had known my insurance would not have paid 100% like they said.

Review: My daughter had a filling at this dental office. They do not allow parents to go back. When my daughter came out I could tell that she had been crying. I asked what was wrong and all she would tell me is that she wanted to leave. Once we got in the car she broke down crying and told me that she couldn't breath and the dentist would not stop working. The dental assistant would just wipe the tears from her eyes and kept going. This is not right and I have spoken to a person from their office with my concerns and still have not gotten one call from the dentist or the office manager. My daughter does not even want to see another dentist. I have about 20 people that have seen my daughter that day after visit that include family, a pastor, and a local police officer. They all could tell that something was wrong. My pastor has been trying to talk to my daughter ever since this problem. I think they owe her an apology!Desired Settlement: I think a refund and apology are in order!

As per my telephone conversation with you this morning the following are the details in reference to your letter and the statement given by Mr. [redacted].Our patient is Mr. [redacted]'s daughter which has been a patient at our office since September 21, 2009. In the past we have done the same type of procedure he is complaining about and it has been ok. He states on his statement that we do not allow parents to come to the back with the child, which he is correct. When he came to our office the first time he read and sign papers stating that after the first visit the child would have to go to the back by herself to get work done. Notes are written on the patient chart before the patient leaves the chair and the assistant takes the patient to the front and calls the parent to the front office and explains thoroughly what was done and if there were any problems. We do not do any dental work on any patient that does not want us to do, nor we hold patients down to get the work done. This patient was given local anesthetic for which the parent sign a paper for. While a procedure is been done the doctor always stops and asks if she or he is ok, incase they have to apply more anesthetic to the area. When Mr. [redacted] returned our call to him on 06-24-2013 to find out about the stop payment on the check that's when he informed us of the problem with his daughter, He stated at that time that she had not been numb, which is not true. As I mention above, whenever we write the notes on the chart we specifically state what was done and what was applied. Once the notes are written down we can not go back to change them.Dr. Rolon is a certified Pediatric Dentist and has been doing this for over 25 years and has never had any problems concerning her patients. Thank you.

Response:

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. It still does not explain why no one came and got me when she was crying or answer any of my other questions. As I stated I have several witnesses that saw my daughter after the appointment and saw how shook up she was. Regards,[redacted]
