I am rejecting this response because:I asked for estimate and never received one work was performed without my permission hade I known he was going to overcharge me at this unbelievable labor cost I would never have let them do the job I was ripped off also I went to another garage and showed them what was done and they told me what they did should ha e cost about $I was totally RIPPED OFF

November 24, 2017Dear *** ***,Thank you for reaching out to us to present an explanation of our position in the matter of complaint ID ***We worked on *** ***'s 1-ton box truck on 11-7-17.When *** *** dropped his vehicle off, our mechanic showed him all of the brake lines
that were rotten*** *** told our mechanic that the work had to be done because he needed the truck.*** *** did not ask for an estimate at that time, or at any time after thatIf he had asked for an estimate, we would have explained to him that when we do any brake lines for any customer on any vehicle, we do not know how long it will take to do the jobWe are unable to give an estimate because all of the lines have to be made special, which consists of cutting, flaring, and bending lines to fitWe do not know what other problems we will encounterIt is a time-consuming and labor-intensive processThe price is based strictly on time and materialsIn the case of *** ***'s vehicle, our mechanic had to complete all of the labor while on his backThere is no lift that can pick that truck up.We charged *** *** for the ten (10) hours of labor, at the rate of $per hourThis is a reduced rate from our standard $per hour rate*** *** asked me to eliminate the sales tax, which I cannot doSo I offered him a $discount if he paid cashTherefore, *** *** paid $in labor, which equates to $per hourThis is a savings of $off our standard rate for ten (10) hours of labor.While we do not enjoy having a customer who is dissatisfied with pricing, we do feel that *** *** was charged appropriately for the work we did on his vehicleFor this reason, we will not be offering *** *** a refund of any amount.Sincerely,John P.Owner
