Company states: Customer requested me to fix the siding. I gave him an estimate. I removed the old siding. Installed the new ones. I did the felt and nailed in. I signed the permit. over the phone. I had to see it. I came over and saw that it was not able to be fixed. I could not determine the cause. When I installed it I told him that he needs to paint it. The painting must be done right away. It is best to paint it right away so the siding does not get ruined. It is hard for me to determine if he had but the contract we agreed upon did not have to do with painting it. That is up to the buyer to do it to protect it. I told him because moisture will get in and destroy the siding. Their is only one place in Sacramento that sells this type of old siding. This kind of siding is made from paper and not real wood. I told him that I will help him out even though it is not our fault. I told him if he pays for the materials I will remove the old ones and install the new one. I did not promise him when I would do it because I am very busy. I ended up buying the siding and I have the receipts which was bought in February. I told him that I bought it and just wait until I have the time so I can help him out. The city inspector and signed the permit and said it was fine as far as my work done. So everything was fine then. Everything is clear in my contract. So when the consumer called me the second time it was at least one month after. This siding is supposed to be painted right away. So since I told him that I will help him out and install it the second time. When I called him and told him that I had bought the siding he filed a complaint. I am still willing to help him out if he will allow me to. He just has to understand that I have such a busy schedule. He will also have to re-imburse me for the siding that I bought as agreed upon.

Review: in october 2014 I contracted with [redacted] of able d construction, inc. license #[redacted], to remove and replace 4 sheets of T-111 siding and remove and replace trim around two windows.an additional sheet of siding was required.I would do all painting of the trim and siding. a building permit #[redacted] was entered with sacramento county for $265.45.total cost of repairs with permit was $1,810.00 paid by cashier's check to able d constuction inc. soon after the permit was entered on october 28,2014,able d construction started work which lasted approximately 2-3 days. I then painted the trim and siding with primer and matching paint. about two weeks after the repairs were done, the siding was warped and bowed.at several locations.I called [redacted] and told him the situation.he told me he never heard of siding warping and would come and take a look and maybe would be able to repair the siding by adding screws to where the siding warped.3 weeks later he came to my house and said screws would not work and he would see what he could do to make this right, but he would do repairs after the thanksgiving and christmas holidays .I told him replacement is the only option. in january 2015, I called [redacted] to see when he could start repairs, and he asked me if I could help him by paying for 3 sheets of t-111 siding, which I agreed I would do.from that conversation till february 18,2015,he has repeated told me he would start repairs but has been real busy.no repairs have been done to this day.I would like to this matter resolved by repairing and replacing the siding with quality material and workmanship.and as of now,I will not help in paying for any materials that are required, and I propose that he paint the siding and trim....[redacted]..homeownerDesired Settlement: replacement with quality material and workmanship of all warped siding and trim, and painting of siding at no cost to me.
