Review: This is a medical transportation company that was approved by my health carrier, [redacted], to transport me from [redacted], NJ to [redacted], NJ after my knee replacement surgery in June of 2012. In December of 2012 I received a bill from Able indicating that my insurance company had denied paying their bill and it was my responsibility. Since I had to get approval from [redacted] for the transport, I called [redacted] to see why they denied the bill. The indicated that they have a contract with Able and in the contract, they must forward the bill to [redacted] within 30 months of service. Since Able did not bill [redacted] for 6 months, [redacted] said they did not follow the terms of the contract and neither [redacted] nor I were obligated to pay this bill. After receiving several more bills, and after [redacted] also calling Able, I continued to receive the bills and continued to call to re-explain the situation every time (and by the way -- each time I called I spoke with a different person). According to [redacted], I am definitely not responsible for this bill (I pay high premiums for my health insurance, and cannot afford to pay for something that is covered by my insurance but was not paid because of the fault of the company). After 1.5 years I now received a letter from an collection agency. I cannot have my credit ruined by a two-bit company that cannot send their bills in time to meet their contractual obligations to my insurance carrier.Desired Settlement: I would like a letter from this company with a copy to my insurance carrier as well as the major credit reporting agencies indicating I was not in default of this bill.

I have received your letter regarding [redacted] After looking into the

complaint that was made I have written off her account.

It is not in our practice to submit non—emergency wheelchair transports to the insurance companies because they are not a covered service. In this case we did try to submit to her insurance and did not receive a response from them til

December 2012 .

The bill was sent to the patient 3 times before we turn it over to collections. Her account has been taken out of collections and is now a 0.00

balance.

Copies of all documents are attached and I also sent copies to [redacted] It will take 10 to 14 days til her name is cleared with our collection agency. If she receives any more letters or phone calls after 14 days she will need to contact me so that I can look into the problem myself.
