I have not found a scratch on anything and nothing was broken! I will recommend Able Metro to anyone! Thanks Charlie, Steve and Lavern and crew!

Review: Price was as negotiated with insurance. That was fine. Movers showed up day of pickup an hour and a half late and spent the next 7 hours loading a packed 2 bedroom apartment. Partly because on mover had to have a cigarette every 15 minutes. I was hit up for drinks by one of the movers (not like I wouldn't offer) within 20 minutes of arrival. I gave very specific instructions regarding handling of 3 very delicate pieces of furniture and was given absolute assurance they would be taken care of. That came from the owner, [redacted] as well as the movers. All three items when the delivery was made suffered damage from improper handling. The oldest item, my 1922 Victrola, I was able to easily remedy. However my 1948 Philco was damaged badly and the [redacted] insurance folks offered me $50 bucks for it because they can find Parts radios on [redacted] for that amount. Lets discount the fact that they took a Good to VeryGood + antique radio in complete working order from my home and delivered a broken wooded box in the shape of a radio. To add insult to injury, they showed up 4 and a half hours late day of delivery and I physically watched the movers damage my items in my home. One man should not move antiques alone or a 200 pound TV console. He dropped that and blamed the packing team for the damage. When I filed the claim, I was told the owner or [redacted] would call me back. After a week of me calling the secretary gave me a phone number and said, call this number if you want to file a claim. I did just that. For 6 weeks now I have been give a bunch of half [redacted] answers by an adjuster who didn't even handle the claim. she pawned it off on someone else. Naturally they come back with repair costs lower than my deductable and tell me my radio is worth $50. Thats what a broken parts radio costs. Not a fully functional unit. The woman I spoke with at [redacted] decided to inturrupt me and remind me that they have an arbitration agreement and"try to sue us". Sad. just sad.Desired Settlement: I don't want money. I want my furniture fixed and my radio fixed. That's it. It wouldn't even be an issue if I didn't physically watch the damage occur because the mover was anxious to get out of Ct. He actually said,"The faster we get this [redacted] done, the faster we get out of here". 10 minutes later, my furniture bounced off the floor. This is the same guy that blamed all of the damage on the packing team. despite being slow, the packing guys were thorough. Again, my intention is to simply have them fix the items them broke in my home. If we really want to get technical, they broke them in my house, therefore the items should be covered by their insurance. My insurance covered damage in the move and the items weren't damaged in transit.

Response:

We are always sorry when damage occurs on any move. I am especially sorry about the radio. I know It meant a lot to Mr. [redacted]. However, this move was done under [redacted] , not Able Metro Moving. As such, [redacted] is the responsible party for settling his claim. [redacted] did settle his claim quickly and according to the deductible that Mr. [redacted] chose. He was offered insurance with no deductible at additional charge, which he chose not to take.

Response:

We ,again, express our regrets to this customer over the status of his 1940's, vintage radio. We,again, state that Able is an agent for [redacted], and have no say in claims resolution. I will say that his complaints of foot dragging are false. His claim may not have been settled to his satisfaction ,due to his opting for a deductible on the insurance, but it was settled in a very reasonable amount of time. I can only guess that the young lady who handled his claim could only value the radio from offerings on [redacted] because such radios have been out of production for 70 years! If the customer can offer greater proof of value to [redacted], he should do so. This complaint should have been filed with [redacted], for, as an agent, the matter is out of our hands.

Response:

Honestly at this point I don't care. I paid for the damaged items to be repaired. The gentleman that caused the damage were able metro employees. not [redacted] employees. Able Metro is a [redacted] franchise. If you hire them, you're using [redacted]. Its not like I have a choice what company to pick. My estimates are from able metro. payment and all of the paperwork of coarse say [redacted] because Able Metro IS A [redacted]!!!!!! Companies like Able get to hide behind large corporations and arbitration agreements to avoid any responsibility. Scammers and ss. Thats all they are.
