FIRST OF ALL THE REAREND IS WORKING. SECOND HIS WARENTY WAS NEVER VALID ANY WERE ELSE AND HIS ACTIONS HAVE MADE IT INPOSIBLE FOR ME TO HAVE HIM ON MY PROPERTY MUCH LESS WORK ON HIS TRUCKSO AS FARE AS I'M CONCERENED HE HAS MADE HIS WARENTY INVALID. HOW COULD I EVER TAKE THE RISK OF
HAVING SOMEONE THAT I'VE HELPED AS MUCH AS POSIBLE OVER AND OBOVE WHAT COULD BE EXPECTED WHO THEN THRITENS TO SUE ME. HAD HE NOT GONE THIS WAY I WOULD HAVE STOOD BEHIND OUR HAND SHAKE DEAL

I am rejecting this response because:First, I’ll admit that Joey, up through this, has been a friend … and has stood by his work.  He split the cost on the rebuild because he spoke to another shop and agreed there was some question about the seal he put on.  That said, yes, the rear end is working but for when a Dodge dealership large diesel mechanic says “too noisy for 1500 miles” … when he shows me “excessive bearing metal” … I have to ask “for how long?” Joey rebuilt a rear end and missed the lip on the housing?  THAT’S what caused the HIS SEAL to fail. It’s not like I enjoy hearing gear chatter.  It’s not like I drained 2 pints out of 7.   He never even checked the rear end level in my presence, just looked at the tire and saw the drip.  He says warranty “NEVER VALID” but the fact that he says he’d have stood by a “handshake deal” means there WAS a valid warranty.  If it’s a warranty, then he shouldn’t have been ashamed to put it down on paper (which he would not do).  I have it on text, though.  Joey had had the truck for 2 weeks while he had other work.  I was patient, I feel.  I called.  I said “hello” and he SIGHED like I was bugging him.  Then he told me he hadn’t gotten to the work that was lined up, that he had had to fire someone.  All of this is in texts he sent.  Next thing I hear it was fixed 3 days later.  He'd inspected bearings “with a camera” (also in a text).  The Dealership mechanic questioned this inspection technique.  After emails which he didn’t respond to, I told Joey that I didn't want to take him to court but he wasn't being cooperative.  I told him I thought he'd tried his best but that he got rushed, took a quick look, found a lip that tore the seal, (which he should have found during the rebuild), and had hoped for the best.  He never took off the cover to look for metal and it was down 2 pints out of 7 and had caused GEAR CHATTER.  Even the Dealership questioned this.  He never said he drove it before doing the seal.  I think he just did what was needed to get out from under things and hoped for the best.I will not show up at the shop but it’s not like I made any threats.  If anything, I think he got overly sensitive that I’d asked for a written warranty.  He told me that he could not PHYSICALLY print out a warranty when all it would take is a note on a receipt.  The last time I showed up I never even GOT a receipt.  He just handed me the key and walked away. Throughout this whole thing I’ve called, texted, emailed.  I suggested several options.  Joey was very non-communicative on trying to settle this thing.  He had even suggested before this last seal that maybe the housing was no good.  I suggested that he “pay me out” and move the problem out of his shop.  He said he was too far into it, which is probably true but when a Dodge Diesel tech says there’s a problem, maybe it’s time to look in the mirror.
