This is in response to the Customer service Issue complaint filed by *** *** CASE# ***This is a vehicle that at the time of service had 186K miles on itwith a 3.1L engine.I will respond in the same order of his complaint.Mr *** states he had problems with his plenum gasket leaking
and that hebrought his vehicle to us to have those repairs made,we provided him with an estimate for the repairs he requested being done tohis vehicle, he approves job, we proceed to make repairsas approved by customer, refer to invoice# dated 6/24/15.The information about his personal health, Is not a factor in thiscomplaint.He then mentions that we had just done his battery and re-installed hisstarteR that he removed and could not reinstall himself.Again he hired us to replace battery and starter, That is the quote heapproved, refer to invoice# dated 11/16/15There is no possible way that installing a battery or a starter caused hiscar to overheatwhich is the complaint.After diagnosing the vehicle for customers overheating issue, we performed aexhaust gas test (at no charge) and confirmedthat the cooling system is contaminated with exhaust gases, And at that timewe inform the customer of our results and providehim with an estimate for repairs.Mr*** illusions of "It sounded like exactly what you hear horrorstories of from Grandma's and Grandpa's .Again like his health issues.Mr*** is correct we did discuss this for quite a while, And yes as hestates "he" did believe it was our faultwetold Mr *** several times, bring it in so we can take a look at it, and ifits our fault we will take care of it .fortunately I had customers in our lobby and the shop owner was in this dayas well, that overheard me tell him this severaltimes (at least a dozen).He forgot to include the whole conversation thoughHe went on stating hecould not afford a head gasket repair, that is whenI stated to him, ''You know ***, If you wanna leave it with us, I couldwork on it between other jobs or during our slow timeand I could do the job for less money to try to help you out" Feeling badfor his situation trying to help.We continued to talked about it, and he continued to go on and on about hishealth issues, and was searching for anotheraffordable alternative I said, ''well you could try a block sealer or aliquid cylinder head gasket sealantThere are severalbrands out there that claim they will work, so you could do this towould void any warranty on work that had beenperformed on your car if it was a result of using such products".His statement about the $dollars he had just GAVE us.He did not GIVE us $900.00.On 6/24/He paid us to replace his plenum gasket, which we did refer tornv#lin the amount of $652.11on 11/16/He paid us to have his vehicle towed to our shop to install abattery and a starter refer to Inv#14313in the amount of $245.99.Bottom line is this, Mr *** removed the plenum, After he was repeadedlytold to bring it back to us, and if it wasour fault we would take care of it.Once Mr *** removed the plenum he accepted all liabilityOur invoiceclearly states Just above the signature line"warranty work has to be performed in our shop"Mr *** took it upon himself, after being told several times, to bring thecar to usAt this point there is nothing we canor will doThere is no way for us to inspect and determine if failure wasour fault, parts failure, or if the vehicle hada pre~existing issue when we were hired to replace plenum gasket or notMr*** states "the actual Problem is that theybroke the gasket.' we have no way to confirm that nowwho's to say he didnot damage it when he took it apart?we will not offer Mr *** any sort of reimbursment, due to the fact, wehave no way to confirm what caused failure now thathe removed the plenum.Mr *** also states that we said "They are getting an attorney fordefamation of character" We did in fact tell him thisonce we had heard from Customer, and different vendors that he was goingaround telling people we caused damage tohis automobileHe has made these comments without any facts, and now due tohis actions we are no longer liable at thispoint.I also could go on and on about Mr *** character based on what othersthat know him have told us, as well as his mechanicalabilities, to diagnose or work on automobilesWe choose not toHowever, hedid have to hire us to install a starter and abattery, very simple task for someone that claims to work on carsAnd nowhe expects us to take his word as to what caused thefailureWhat are his credentials in automotive repair and diagnosticsfields?No refund will be issued
