In August of 2013. We purchased [redacted]. The four-wheel drive was removed. There were other problems and they haven't returned messagesWe were told the car was 4 wheel drive and that they had checked and corrected any issues when they purchased it. While we were there they replaced the radiator which was leaking (which we later were told was installed incorrectly), took headlights off another [redacted] and put them on ours and fixed the broken radio, which we quickly found out did not work (he put a CD in so it was blasting music when he pulled the car around but the radio was still broken). About 3 weeks after the purchase a car repair shop told us that the 4 wheel drive mechanism had been removed. I contacted the seller ([redacted]) who did not return my text. Several months later, I took the car to a [redacted] dealership for a recall on a safety issue and asked them to look at the 4 wheel drive. They said the car had been stripped of the mechanism and it would eventually be the demise of the car. They suggested I contact the seller and ask for the refund- they suggested I not let these guys touch the car. I e-mailed them about the situation and they did not respond.Desired SettlementI am hesitant to take a replacement but would consider it. The car has wear and tear and some bumper damage so I would certainly take a refund less than the over $4K that we paid for it. I would take a $2-3K jeep if I could get my mechanic to look at it before I bought or get a $3K refundBusiness Response To whom it may concern:First off allow me, [redacted], owner and operator of Above MotorSports LLC, to formally apologize for the past issues with your purchase. When you purchased the vehicle from [redacted] at Above MotorSports in 2013 I had just opened our business at our current location 3 months prior. I am a small business owner and by default issues will arise and people will be dissatisfied; for both valid and invalid reasons. Since January 2015, we have split from any partnerships (management and ownership) in our company and I now intend to be personally involved in any and all potential complaints as the sole owner. Quality control is KEY in our new company and this will lead to customer satisfaction in the long run. At the time "AMS" was unable to hire enough staff to properly handle our growing business and to address the issues that arose, let alone online complaints I wasn't aware of. The economy has brought it's share of hurdles and for a startup small business like ours, every day was a major obstacle that consumed all available manpower to address and overcome. This complaint was JUST been brought to my attention by my newly employed staff and I am embarrassed to have such poor reviews tarnishing my name and brand. We've finally been able to afford the proper staffing and structure to ensure we will never again have a complaint - I truly aim to have a business that gives back and serves the local community with honest and affordable deals on both new car purchases, repairs and custom performance work (as we have been successfully doing since I have regained control of the company ownership). I would like to make you aware that the salesman you mentioned in your Revdex.com complaint is no longer an employee of my company. In fact, the entire sales department has been replaced with new staff with new guidance and leadership. I realize it's been quite some time since your complaint and you may or may not have the [redacted] any longer, but I would implore you to openly communicate with me directly and let me know what I can do for a chance to rectify the wrongdoing of the previous staff as well as a chance to regain your business in the future. At a minimum allow us to offer your a free service as a token of our truest intentions to correct any wrongdoing.
