Review: On DEC 2014, I paid ** from Abruzzi Contracting Inc in full payment after he completed laying down concrete on my driveway and sidewalk. A week later, it was found that the concrete discolored and starting to chip. In addition, the concrete was not levered and water builds up in front of basement door. ** came over to look at the issue and agreed with the problem. He started to break up the concrete. In the middle of breaking it, he stated that his equipment broke down and will be coming back the following week. I have been in contact with him a few times since. He is now avoiding my phone call nor is making effort to come back and finish the job.Desired Settlement: I am asking either refund my payment or come back to finish the job.

Review: I signed a contract with Abruzzi Contracting in May 2014 to remove the old concrete, gate, and shed in my backyard and to replace the concrete. I also hired them to remove the tile against the bottom of my house which was coming off, and depending on what it looked like underneath, replace the old tile with a brick veneer. They started work in the end of June 2014. Abruzzi did the concrete work, and placed brick on the bottom of my house. When they broke up the old concrete, they broke the pipe where the gutters fed into the sewer line. I did not realize this had happened until the cement was already poured and we had heavy rain. I started getting water in my basement where the pipe came into. I tried calling him, and he took a long time to respond. At the same time, they also pitched the concrete towards my house, when I specifically requested that it be pitched away from my house and down the driveway. Of course, I did not realize this until the concrete was already poured. I tried calling Abruzzi, and it took a long time for them to respond. When he finally responded, he told me that it would be extensive to fix the pipe and instead ran the gutter outside and closed up the opening where the gutters fed into. I was not happy with this resolution, but it took so long for him to respond and to even do this. He fixed the pitch problem by cutting out the cement adjacent to my home and replacing it with pavers, leaving a big gap between the pavers and the cement, that I had to caulk myself. Once again, I was not happy with this, but it took a while before he even did this. On Feb.* I noticed that the cement is crumbling, peeling and cracking. I tried calling Abruzzi on Feb. [redacted] to let them know what is going on, left a message, but did not receive a call back. Since February *, I have called and left 11 messages before I finally received a message stating that my contact, Al, was away and received my messages. I called back and left more messages for another 5 days and still no call back.Desired Settlement: I want a total refund for what I paid to do this job, plus the cost to have the pipe that they broke fixed. I had a carpenter to build a deck and assemble a new shed and now I have to pay him to disassemble and reassemble it. I paid Abruzzi contracting a total of $7,500 for this job. I have an estimate for the broken pipe from my plumber and it will cost $1,250. I also have an estimate from my carpenter and the cost to disassemble and reassemble the shed and deck is $1,400. A total of $10,150.
