ABS Locksmith

I was locked out of my apartment due to the fact I left my keys at my vacation home. There was a sticker on the call box outside of my apartment complex that read "Locksmith 917-589-6383". I called the number and a foreign gentleman answered who asked for my apartment number & cell number from which I called. He reported the service man would arrive in 15-20 minutes. I waited the approximate time frame to which a young foreign gentle showed up and proceeded to tell me he had to drill a hold above the key hole of the door to get in (the door was not dead bolted). He simply looked at me and said "$225 to open, ok?". At that point in time I knew it was a steep price but I agreed. After drilling the hole and pushing open the door I asked him to replace the outside of the lock because of the drill hole. He proceeded to start unscrewing the rest of the door and said "oh no. you have to replace the lock now with new keys because it's broken and that costs another $350". At that point I had no choice to argue because I was home alone. He replaced the lock and told me that if I could keep a secret he would, and that I should contact my management company to see if they would reimburse me for my payment by lying that the key was stuck in the lock. The invoice was a generic invoice notepad that read "Locksmith Services" at the top with no company information. He pushed me to pay him in cash to which I fervently declined. I agreed to write a check to the owner/company name. He told me "No, no write "cash"". He told me he had to charge more tax because the bank takes a fee from the check. I was visibly upset by what was happening. He told me not to cry because he would take me out for a drink. I received a call from the original number I called for the service several days later because I cancelled my check before the service man could deposit it. They never left a voicemail. I called the company a few minutes later to speak with the owner and the man said "no he is in China". The address on the website is also a false address because when I asked the man where their store location is he said there was no location. When you google the exact address it also shows up as an apartment complex for rent on streeteasy.com. I would greatly appreciate your assistance in shutting this "company" down.

Review: actually non of the choices accurately describes the complaint - which is as follows: this company continually defaces my building - and all others - with extremely adhesive stickers that are almost impossible to remove. the sticker is caustic to both metal and painted surfaces. I have called their phone # many times to ask them to stop. their reply is quite rude. the sticker: LOCKSMITH 24 hour emergency ###-###-#### we also believe this to be a sham companyDesired Settlement: no more stickers
