Customer brought car to our shop to replace engine. That is exactly what we have done and charge him for. We never promise to fix all problems in  his car. We check electrical connections related to engine replacement job, all checked out good. We suggested to take car to Chevy...

dealer for further diagnostic . Customer decline. We can do it for him but he must pay for additional repair.

Review: On 8-24-2015 South Side Auto Salvage, also known as Absolute Auto Salvage at 2108 w Holt ave, was sent a check #016078, for $55.00, meant for a different south side auto salvage in Minnesota was sent to them by mistake. We called explaining what happened and we had to talk to the owner that was not there at the time. Numerous calls in the last 4 weeks go unanswered, and we are tired of getting nowhere with this issue which is just plain wrong. I also faxed and emailed them copies of the check but no response.Desired Settlement: Just refund the check amount $55.00 that he cashed, knowing it wasn't for him.

Review: I bought a engine and had it installed by Absolute Auto Salvage my car is not running correct the engine is shaking and my engine light is on inside my I spent 1,700.00 plus tax the first day I picked my car up when I got on the express-way the car was stallin and was slowing down I was terrified I could of lost my life or been injured with the grace of God I made it off and the car completely stopped someone from Absolute Auto Salvage came and picked the car up and the next day I called,they told me that they fixed the problem,when I started the car the engine was shaking I asked them why its shaking they told me its nothing wrong with the engine I said to the two guys Tim and Efim this engine is not right they told me to take it to the dealer and I said no I paid you to fix it.I need your help, thank you [redacted]Desired Settlement: all iam asking 4 Absolute Auto Salvage for a full refund of 1,7000.00 plus tax

Customer paid for engine and installation. that is exactly what was done. after installation we find out that control module need to be replaced and customer was advised that control module can be replaced by dealer only due to programming requirements. customer has 30 days parts and labor warranty. if anything wrong with engine or installation within that period we gladly fix problem free of charge.

Absolute auto was supposed to replace my engine that was dead. Was told the replaced engine has 45,000 miles on it. My broken engine has 89,000 miles on it. Had oil leaks, smoking and weird noises coming from car so I took it to a Toyota dealership and they verified that the replaced engine has 159,000 miles!! Don't ever trust or use this company!!! They are scammers!

Review: Purchased a used transmission and the first one went out within a day the second one went out after 29days after purchase of the transmission. They sold and installed a defective part twice and now they are stating that there is nothing they can do.Desired Settlement: Replace the defaulted transmission. No installation needed.

We sell all used parts with 30 days warranty. All used parts tested and verified good working condition at time of sale. “30 days warranty” clearly stated on receipt. We never turned down customers if they have problem with parts we sold within 30 days of sale. However dates on complain do not line up. Purchase date 09/20/2013 29 days later will be 10/19/2013. Why it took her three month to write complain. Customer can save money by buying used parts but if they don't feel comfortable with 30 days warranty they can buy new parts with longer warranty.

Review: I took my car up to this shop for a engine replacement. They agreed to replace this engine knowing that this take of car is electric with computer system. after the repair was done I went to get my car only for my engine light to come on and the car to shut off on me. The shop tells me it has something to do with the TCM not communicating with the engine and thats electric work that don't repair that but remind you they said they care relaace my engine knowing it was electric and computerized. So I paid a 1600 dolllar repair job only for my car to still have issue.Desired Settlement: I think I need a refund for the money u spent time off work going back and forth the the shop.
