I m actually spending time to write this review because I think this agency is only interested in taking your money and never to ensure they deliver a good serviceI would think that if you are in a business to provide services to new born baby, your customer satisfaction and service you are providing should be your priorityHere after an horrible first night with a night nurse, the agency simply would not accept any wrong doing and or apologies but still thought they should keep the upfront payment of more than a $1, basically end of the dayone horrible night for a $1kBasicallyNurse they hire lose, I lose but the agency makes 1k for nothing this is border line extortionI would really check other agencies or be aware of the risk you are running by selecting thembecause anything that goes wrongthey will not accept any responsibilityin the end, the safety of my first baby was more important to me and the $1kbut not to them

This client registered with the agency to find a nannyThis client had a verbal conversation with us about our process and fees and policies and then filled out her written application on The agency bills the fee at this point for the hireUnfortunately that initial hire did not work outThis client is protected by the agency and allowed to hire a new nanny as a replacement at no additional chargeThere are no monetary refunds of agency fees We never know exactly why a job does not work out as we are not in the home and the only two people that are is the nanny and the clientAnd you end up with basically having a nanny side of a story and a client side of a story We are happy to still offer the client a replacement nanny search at no additional charge

Absolute Best Care's service agreement says that their fee is "*** *** * *** *** *** ** *** ***" There was no placement madeI did offer the job to one of their clients, but she turned the job downShe did come to my house to get a tour of the house, the town, and go over the kids' routines, but she did not bring documentation with her to go on payroll and declined to sign an employment contractBut she said she would return on April ** with the proper documents to fill out her paperwork and to begin workShe then sent an email on April ** declining the job (see attached) and never showed up againAbsolute Best Care tried to make a placement in my home, but failed to do soThe candidate declined the jobThis is neither my fault nor theirs, but the fact remains that they are not owed a fee unless someone they provide starts working for me.
There are also several factual inaccuracies in Absolute Best Care's responseI found them through an internet search and registered onlineWe never had a conversation about their policies prior to my registrationThey redesigned their website over the weekend (sometime between 4/** and 5/*), which I find very tellingBut when I signed up, on their online registration page they had a link to the side with their contract, but the page was visually more about paying the registration feeIt was very difficult for a consumer to find the contractI see the fact that they have redesigned the website in the midst of this dispute as an admission that the site I navigated was not consumer-friendly or perhaps as an attempt to bury their guilt by taking the old site off lineAlthough, actually, I would argue that the site is still misleading because they have not labeled their service agreement anywhere on the pageIt's just labeled as "printable version" in a link and then in a scroll box of fine print, also unlabeledThey label much more prominently a NY State statement of employee rights and instruct you to check a box if you agree below that--so it appears you're agreeing to abide by NY State law, but really they mean it to agree to their contractIt's confusingI have a master's degree and am internet savvy and I got tricked by it.
Their contract is also notably flawed--they haven't changed that yet!--not only for having been so buried on their website (all other employment agencies I worked with made their contracts much more prominent), but also for not having any language to deal with the outcome that an employee is hired but then is either fired or quits soon afterMost agencies have a one week to one month grace period while both the candidate and the client determines if the job is going to work outAbsolute Best Care's contract is silent on this topic, making them well outside industry standardI have communicated with the International Nanny Association and they also agreed this was outside industry standards.
They said they charged me for the placement fee on 4/**/This is not accurateThey actually billed it on 4/**/16, before their candidate ever stepped foot in my houseAnd they did it without my consentThey emailed me a form to sign to consent to the payment of the feeI did not sign or consent--thinking it precipitous--but they used my credit card from the internet registration to charge me anyways without my consent or knowledgeImagine if you bought something on line and then the online merchant just used your card number to charge a large sum without your knowledgeThis is what Absolute Best Care has doneAnd it's called stealing.
I do not want them to do another search for meI have a feeling that the reason their candidate declined the job was because she did not want to be paid legally and pay taxesHer previous employers did not pay taxes on her and she was clearly nervous to start paying taxesAbsolute Best Care knew this and did not help me to convince her to be a legal employee and further told me that most of their candidates did not want to pay taxesThis is not the kind of employee I am looking for and I do not want to use their agencyFurther, charging my credit card fraudulently and then trying to strong arm me into using their service is not a great way to win my trust.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:Absolute Best Care's service agreement says that their fee is "[redacted]" There was no placement made. I did offer the job to one of their clients, but she turned the job down. She did come to my house to get a tour of the house, the town, and go over the kids' routines, but she did not bring documentation with her to go on payroll and declined to sign an employment contract. But she said she would return on April ** with the proper documents to fill out her paperwork and to begin work. She then sent an email on April ** declining the job (see attached) and never showed up again. Absolute Best Care tried to make a placement in my home, but failed to do so. The candidate declined the job. This is neither my fault nor theirs, but the fact remains that they are not owed a fee unless someone they provide starts working for me. There are also several factual inaccuracies in Absolute Best Care's response. I found them through an internet search and registered online. We never had a conversation about their policies prior to my registration. They redesigned their website over the weekend (sometime between 4/** and 5/*), which I find very telling. But when I signed up, on their online registration page they had a link to the side with their contract, but the page was visually more about paying the registration fee. It was very difficult for a consumer to find the contract. I see the fact that they have redesigned the website in the midst of this dispute as an admission that the site I navigated was not consumer-friendly or perhaps as an attempt to bury their guilt by taking the old site off line. Although, actually, I would argue that the site is still misleading because they have not labeled their service agreement anywhere on the page. It's just labeled as "printable version" in a link and then in a scroll box of fine print, also unlabeled. They label much more prominently a NY State statement of employee rights and instruct you to check a box if you agree below that--so it appears you're agreeing to abide by NY State law, but really they mean it to agree to their contract. It's confusing. I have a master's degree and am internet savvy and I got tricked by it. Their contract is also notably flawed--they haven't changed that yet!--not only for having been so buried on their website (all other employment agencies I worked with made their contracts much more prominent), but also for not having any language to deal with the outcome that an employee is hired but then is either fired or quits soon after. I did not sign or consent--thinking it precipitous--but they used my credit card from the internet registration to charge me anyways without my consent or knowledge. Imagine if you bought something on line and then the online merchant just used your card number to charge a large sum without your knowledge. This is what Absolute Best Care has done. And it's called stealing. I do not want them to do another search for me. I have a feeling that the reason their candidate declined the job was because she did not want to be paid legally and pay taxes. Her previous employers did not pay taxes on her and she was clearly nervous to start paying taxes. Absolute Best Care knew this and did not help me to convince her to be a legal employee and further told me that most of their candidates did not want to pay taxes. This is not the kind of employee I am looking for and I do not want to use their agency. Further, charging my credit card fraudulently and then trying to strong arm me into using their service is not a great way to win my trust. I think Absolute Best Care is a shady business with shady business practices and shady candidates. I have offered to pay them for the background check they did on the candidate on my behalf, but they have rejected that offer. That offer still stands. I would like all other funds returned to me immediately.

We used Absolute Best Care to hire a part-time nanny. It didn’t turn out well. It took them more than a month to find the first candidate and after 2 months had only found 3 potential nannies (one of whom didn’t show up for her interview). We hired one of the other two but had to fire her a few weeks later. They refused to refund our money (few thousand dollars) or the severance that we had to pay the nanny based on their contract. We would never recommend them.

This client registered with the agency to find a nanny. This client had a verbal conversation with us about our process and fees and policies and then filled out her written application on 4/*/16. She also agreed to and signed our Service...

Agreement at that point which again lays out exactly how the agency works with fees and policies. This client interviewed a nanny and hired her. As this client confirms in her own words. The nanny started on 4/**/16. The agency bills the fee at this point for the hire. Unfortunately that initial hire did not work out. This client is protected by the agency and allowed to hire a new nanny as a replacement at no additional charge. There are no monetary refunds of agency fees.
We never know exactly why a job does not work out as we are not in the home and the only two people that are  is the nanny and the client. And you  end up with basically having a nanny side of a story and a client side of a story.

We are happy to still offer the client a replacement nanny search at no additional charge.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I don't think anybody has been debating at any point whether I made an effort to hire Sohna J[redacted]. But the fee is contingent upon placing an employee. I think our essential disagreement is over whether or not a candidate was placed. Your service agreement does not define "placement." My understanding of "placement" was that I would have someone working for me on a permanent, longterm basis. She would have gone on my payroll and we would have come to a written agreement about her job. She would have shown up at my house Monday thru Friday and done the job I was looking to fill.
Your understanding of placement seems to be the moment I offered her a job and she accepted it. We just aren't going to see eye to eye on that and there's probably not much more point in debating it. The contract isn't clear and we'd have to probably go to court to get clarity, which is not something either of us relish, I'm assuming.
My husband and Doug K[redacted] have come to an agreement in which he's returning 62.5 percent of our money and I am ending any complaints against Absolute Best Care.
So here I will only make complaints about myself: I thought Absolute Best Care was offering something different from what it really was offering and I did not do enough research to pin down exactly what I was paying for. That was my mistake in not being careful enough about who I did business with and taking enough care to make sure something I bought was really what I thought it was. Caveat emptor.
This has been a good lesson and I thank Absolute Best Care and Doug K[redacted] for that lesson. I wish them the best and look forward to not interacting anymore.
