Review: I called Home Advisor for a referral for a carpet cleaning company. They suggested that I use Absolute Carpet and Upholstery Cleaners. I called Absolute and made an appointement for Thursday, Jan 29, 2015. Absolute never showed up so I called Home Advisor and they left a message with Absolute. Absolute then called me back and told me that I was on the schedule for Friday. To which I replied, there is no way I would make the appointment for Friday because my husband works from home on Fridays and the carpet cleaning would be a distraction. (In my heart I knew Absolute had written my appointment down on the wrong day, but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt.) I rescheduled for today, Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 11 am. Absolute called this morning and said they would be 20 minutes late, and asked me again for my address (provided twice on previous calls). Terrence of Absolute arrived around 11:30am. When he arrived, he asked me what he quoted me. I told him $85. His actual quote was two rooms and a hallway for $85.00. I aksed Terrance if instead of a second room, if he waould do the stairs. He agreed, but he only cleaned 5 stairs and one riser, not the entire stairwell. When terrance finished the carpet cleaning I noticed some areas that were still grey and I brought this up. Terrance told me these areas were still grey due to "wear" and insisted that the carpet was clean. He left and I got a white (like a sheet of paper) terry towel and rubbed the still moist areas I was not happy with. The towel turned dark grey when I rubbed the specified areas. If the carpet was clean as Terrance had calimed, there would have been no dirt on the towel. I contacted Home Advisor and informed them that I was not happy with the carpet cleaning or their referral. Absolute Carpet Cleaning and Upholstery did not have their address listed on their business card or their invoice so I had to call Home Advisor back to find out what it was. I did not find this acceptable either.Desired Settlement: I would like a complete refund by Absolute of the $85.00 I spent to get the carpet cleaned returned by mail. I do not wish to do business with Home Advisor or Absolute ever again. Please put them both on a 5 year probation and remove ability to use Revdex.com as a reference.(Shocker - the invoice has no invoice number on it either!)
