Review: The company said that the job would be $290 to install a electrical outlet and to clean my chimney. While the company was there they took my thermal chimney blanket and threw it away and he also broke my bricks around my fireplace. The job to date is still not complete. When he left he wanted to charge me $450 and I said no. He started to yell at me at this point so I wrote him a check so he would leave. After he left I canceled the check.Desired Settlement: I only want to pay the business $330. I think that is a fair price as they broke some of my stuff while there.

Company states: We went out to the customer's address for a quote. We then came back and did the work for the customer. We advised him that before I cut the materials I wanted to make sure that the customer pay for it. He said "yeah". So I went ahead and did and he was really happy with it actually. The chimney had a considerable amount of debris. He is burning this material. I asked for payment and then he started acting like he didn't want to pay for the materials. I told him we just talked about this. It was about $455 altogether. Putting in the braces was a big job. The electrical outlet was everything he wanted. I made it difficult to get it open so the children couldn't get it. So I wrote him a money order. Later I received a claim that I stole his thermal blanket and chipped his brick. So I gave him a call and asked what was the deal. We did a very good and clean job. We never leave a mess. I asked what do you want. They asked for $120. I said okay, so I sent a certified mail of the check and I have the copy of his signature. Now he turns around and filed this complaint. I made maximum effort to make this customer. I even gave him a senior discount. I really went above and beyond. Most people would have charged him a lot more money than I charged him. He said that he cancelled the check and I looked in my bank and it says that it never got cancelled. He received the money order on September 3rd.
