They charged 125 for coming out. Did no diagnostics, only to plug and unplug the Sump Pump. They wanted an additional 250 to actually lift the cover, remove a coupling that screws on, to look at the pump and insisted I needed a new pump. By the way I insisted they needed to remove the coupling they wanted to cut the pipe. 10 minutes after they left I fixed it. It was just an obstruction under the pump, a wipe. I would have otherwise given them the money except it became apparent quickly they had no clue what they were doing. I had to tell them to actually use the floater switch on the pump to turn on the pump to do a real test. Then one guy insisted the floater that is used for the overflow alarm sensor was the switch for the pump. Stay away from this people. Also they get dispatched by some broker called CJH Plumbing 855 706 2005.

Review: Absolute Plumbing was contacted to service our septic tank. We were told by our builder the tank would need to be cleaned after 5 years. Service technicians arrived and told me tank was was 4 feet in ground and would require a backhoe to dig to lid. Advised to install a riser to avoid future problems. An invoice was filled out for the amount of $120.00 for inspection and was asked to sign the form. I signed my name and put in capital letters Payment Denied. I asked the technician to have his company call me.

There was no disclosure of an estimate fee when I set up the appointment and the phone book where I found the ad specifically states FREE ESTIMATE. I was not given a copy of the original estimate. A bill was mailed to me on 3/27/14 for the amount of $125.00 ( not the amount on the original form). Also the cost to pump the tank was higher. (quoted 325.00, billed 395.00)

I has a free estimate done with another company and the tank was 3 feet in the ground and could be hand dug, avoiding a backhoe. The cost of a riser was 300.00 ( bill estimate was 1200.00

I contacted the health department about the tank depth and was told that there had been many complaints about Absolute Plumbing reported to the Health Department.Desired Settlement: I do not want to receive additional bills from Absolute Plumbing. Today (6/5/14) two bills arrived in the mail together. One was dated April, the other May. Since this occured in March I have contacted 3 other septic companies and all told me there was no fee for an estimate. The standard pumping rate in this area is $300.00 - $ 325.00.

Response:

Good Morning,

We were contacted by the customer and requested that we pump the septic tank. We responded by bringing a large vacuum truck, and additional labor to perform that task. Upon arrival we located the tank based on the location of the inspection port and were able to determine that the depth of the tank exceeded the Health departments specifications of no more than 30" of cover. We informed the customer of such situation and prepared a quote for backhoe, concrete riser, labor, pumping the tank, 2nd vehicle for delivery of concrete riser and lid. We submitted an invoice to the customer to cover our service charge for our time/labor, equipment (vacuum truck), and fuel associated with our response to her request. The invoice stated that the charge was in the amount of $125.00 and not the amount that the customer states ([redacted]). We had expenses associated with her situation and only asked to be compensated for such. It is not within our control to know if the situation allows for us to complete the job based on poor previous installation designs that are not within the Health Departments guidelines prior to arrival. Had the system actually been within the guidelines of no more than 30" of cover to the access point of the septic tank, we would have gladly performed the job as scheduled by the customer. However, our contact with the customer has only been through the mailing of invoices for the amount of $125.00 and based on the amount, it does not make it worthy of any additional actions. We sent the invoices in hopes that the customer had reviewed the rationality of this situation and with good faith, realized that we incurred costs due directly and solely with trying to perform a task as she requested and therefore be compensated for such.

We do not have any expectations of receiving any payment for this work and propose to consider this case closed.

Thank you,

Consumer
