Greetings Mr. [redacted], I am in receipt of your latest email. It is and has always been my intent to help resolve the Radon gas issue in your home. As you have stated the level of Radon gas had remained below the action level from mid March 2014 until late October or early...

November. During this time one or more changes were made to the crawlspace (changes that did not exist during the crawlspace mitigation installation). I have made two service/scope trips and you and I agreed that more testing needed to be gathered. One by manipulating the dampers individually, recording the change in information then opening both dampers doing likewise. I have ask for the crawlspace vents to be opened so I can evaluate the impact of the closed dampers by using your monitor and my monitor. Also, I would like to place my monitor in close proximity to yours ,at it's current location, with the garage door open for twelve hours then closed for twelve hours. As I stated in our earliest communication the initial problem was found to be the garage slab. There is also a slab by the front door that could be a contributing factor now. The initial Radon Gas level was 33pCi/l as determined by the home inspector.  Mr. [redacted] with [redacted] and I believe the gas could be entering through the cinderblock walls. In the contract under EXCEPTIONS # (11) If there is a cinder block wall or foundation,(other than a poured concrete wall), additional work and material may be required for additional charges. I can come to your home Wednesday evening 5-5:30pm. I need your help in at least opening the garage door as described in the test procedure above. Please advise. To Whom it may concern, I am in receipt of your letter dated 4/14/2015 regarding my response to the complaint filed ID [redacted].
The initial post mitigation Radon Gas test was done by the Home Inspector prior to the real-estate closing. The result was well below the action level of 4.0 pCi/l. After several months I was informed by the owner that the Radon Gas Level was at or near 10 pCi/l. I placed my Radon monitor in close proximity to the one the complaintant was using to gauge the Radon Gas level. The monitor was left in place and gathered hourly readings for a certain duration of time exceeding the recommended 48 hour test cycle. The hourly readings revealed a EPA Avg. of 4.5 pCi/l. There were several readings during the test cycle that were elevated above 10.0 pCi/l. The high readings were occurring in the early morning hours day after day lasting for three hours or so then the readings would again fall below the 4.0 pCi/l level. I could not then or can not now explain this. So I along with the complainant, again set my monitor in close proximity to the first test cycle location.  I also installed another suction point in the crawl space dura skrim vapor barrier. This test cycle revealed an average reading of 1.7 pCi/l. All hourly readings were within normal range with no high spike readings recorded like the previous test cycle. Sincerely, [redacted] N. Mr [redacted], the radon system installer, has made several good faith efforts to resolve this issue.  This closes this issue as far as his responsiveness goes.  Unfortunately the system he installed has to partially redone  for durability and design reasons.
Some of what has happened is beyond his control, but some  of what  now must be fixed  might have been avoided  with a better  installation.
