2yr old lock in a car.
I haven't done business with this company in over 10 years. My two-year-old recently it was being babysat by my roommate locked herself in my roommate's car. 😠 this company is 5 minutes away from my home. They said they were on their way after 10 minutes I called them back. Dispatch gave me another 10 minute ETA. That is entirely too long for a child to be locked in the vehicle. The ABT Towing that I knew 10 years ago would have never allowed a child to be locked in a vehicle that long. So after some research I came to find out they were under new ownership. So don't call this new ABT ever for any emergencies cuz who knows if they're going to actually show up. Definitely don't call them if a child is locked in a car.

We have received Ms. [redacted] complaint. After reviewing the information  we determined this was a legitimate tow. The vehicle was not parked within the lines of the parking space. The customer admits in the complaint...

that she did park over the line and the rental office advised her a vehicle can be towed for parking six inches over the line. The vehicle was in clear violation as it occupied two parking spaces, I have attached a picture to support our claim. Unfortunately her negligent parking resulted in a fine which will not be refunded.

Review: On December 21st at 9:45 pm. I went to Ashton Square apartment complex. I pulled directly in between 2 cars leaving enough space for each one of use to have enough space to get in and out. I displayed my parking pass and went into my apartment. When I came out this morning my car was gone. I found out that the car was towed by ABT Towing. I waited until they opened at 8:00 am to go to the building where my car was located. There was no one there. I waited 15 minutes and still no one showed up. I received a call once I left. They explained my car was towed for parking over the line. I then went back to ABT towing and they showed pictures of where I was parked. I did park over the line. I was not aware of this when I parked. The spaces in Ashton Square apartments are no exactly perfect and it look as if they redid the parking lot and you can still see the old lines. When it's night I'm not worried about parking I'm worried about safety. I did contact the rental office and they did state you can be towed for parking 6 inches over the line. In the picture I am not sure if my car was the only car over the line but I do know another car would not be able to fit in the space. I'm all for people doing their job but I felt they could not find anything wrong in the parking lot that night and they just wanted to find a reason to tow a car. If I was preventing another car from parking I could see the issue. I'm going to allow enough room for everyone to have space when getting in and out of the car. I wouldn't want anyone to hit my car nor would I want to hit anyone else's. There is a sign that states unauthorized cars will be towed so my main concern is having the pass in the car. Also my tow slip states that I am double parked. I was not doubled parked just parked across the line.Desired Settlement: I understand that there are rules. It is 3 days before Christmas and everyone is looking for quick money. I work with small business account everyday. I see what's going on and how businesses are struggling. I have seen plenty of people parked outside of the line in Ashton Square apartment complex. If they want people to park inside the line they may need to cover up the old lines and make the spaces wider. They also need to display these rules on the parking pass or in the parking lot. Everyone knows unauthorized cars cannot park in the parking lot from 8pm until 8 am that is clearly displayed. The $120 I had to pay to get my car from this tow company was Christmas money for my family. I was suppose to be to work at 8:00 am and I did not get to work until 10:00 am because I had to deal with this foolishness. I lost 2 hours of pay. I would like to be refunded since I had to be late. If they were there at 8:00 as it stated on the door I could have only been 1 hour late.

Review: On January 5, 2014 at 11:55 PM my vehicle was parked outside of my sister in laws apartment, however after 9 PM you must have a parking decal or be parked in visitor parking. Well my vehicle was parked with out a decal because I just pulled my vehicle to place my newborn inside and walked into her home at 11:55 PM when I walked back out at 12 AM my vehicle was gone. Before ABT Towing towed my vehicle there was no previous body damage done to it. My vehicle was parked facing in with my emergency brake up, when I picked up my vehicle it was facing out and was backed into a spot. I contact ABT shortly after I left because there was a huge dent on my front passenger side above the tire. When I picked up the vehicle I did not walk all the way around it nor did I open my passenger side door or I would have noticed it before I left. They have pictures they took of my vehicle where they towed it, which would show there was no dent/damage done before hand. I have contact my insurance agency and did everything they asked me to do. ABT even requested that I bring the vehicle back to them so they could see the damage, and I did. They have no cooperated with my insurance company in regards to paying for the damage that is estimated at $648, the estimater even stated the damage is a soft pressure dent that can be caused by someone placing their hands in that spot and pushing the vehicle back, which ABT did when they towed my car. They refuse to show the pictures which would prove there was no damage before hand and that they clearly caused it. They will not cooperate with the insurance company nor I, and are very rude about the situation. As a business they carry insurance for reasons like this and I do not see what the problem is for paying for damage they clearly created. My car now has a huge dent on it that is pushed so far back the metal grinds with my passenger side door when you open it and now paint is chipping.Desired Settlement: ABT Towing needs to pay the $648 for the damage they have caused to my vehicle.

Review: My car was parked in [redacted] apartments while visiting a friend. The vehicle was left 2 minutes as the parking pass was being returned. The tow truck driver put a boot on the car and refused to drop it unless ownership could be established. My friend displayed the registration car insurance but the tow driver stated that wasn't enough and demanded a $120.00 to get the vehicle back. I asked why wasn't the car dropped for the $40.00 drop fee and the tow or very stated that was their policy but refused to show me this policy. There have been many people in that complex like me that are single parents trying to provide for their kids without a business getting over on them. That $120.00 meant no food for the week but he smirked as I explained to him what a hardship this imposed. The police officer that I called to the scene stated I was the second person to have a complaint today. They destroyed the inside of my vehicle as well.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of $120.00 as they unethically towed it
