To whom it may concern,In regards to [redacted] complaint. We installed a used transmission into her vehicle in June 10 days before her warranty of 90 days was over she had her vehicle towed in.  Upon inspection of vehicle we found her transmission had also 1 front axle broken into pieces; the...

other axle had come apart & 1 month torn in half.  Most garages would have voided the warranty for abuse but we contacted the company told them their transmission went bad & they supplied another at no charge.  This is what any warranty is on the part for 90 days not labor it is a used part.  We installed the transmission new [unreadable] repaired 1 axle and replaced 1[unreadable] new. When I called the customer and explained the labor was not covered but we would charge half price & give her the axle at our cost she refused to pay anything.  Came to the garage wouldn't let me speak.  Yelling that I was ripping her off and she was going to call the police because she shouldn't have to pay anything.  After 15 minutes of hse screaming I asked her to leave no charge & told her she wasn't welcome here anymore.  She left came back in and demanded a receipt which I wouldn't give her because she didn't pay anything.  She left again and came back w/ police. I explained myself & they left. Her complaint about the mirror the vehicle wasn't down both sides of the vehicle.  We definitely didn't break her mirror.  I thank you.John S.

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: AC Auto did replace the transmission that it received from [redacted](replacement contract) but some of the assertions in the letter from AC Auto are incorrect or absent of the details..
[redacted] and AC Auto are separate businesses but do work in conjunction when it comes to replacing used parts..AC Auto did replace the transmission that was acquired from [redacted]....at this point the transmission is performing properly..This replacement has occurred within the past 2 weeks - I was told by phone that the transmission is guaranteed for 90 days..

I am rejecting...

this response because:
Before my van shut off before having it towed to the garage, I had no problem with the acceleration, nor was the motor jumping. I did not have those issues until After I picked it up from the garage. When I did pick up the van, the motor was jumping so badly that if it had been test driven like the business said it was, then I strongly  believe they would have noticed the motor jumping and the pulling on the accelerator cable. Those problems were happening right when I pulled out of the lot and turned the corner. If those issues were noticed from the mechanics, I believe that is something they should have brought to my attention while the van was in their possession when they told me they were able to get the van to run again. Even when they did get the van running again, they told me it did not sound like it was running right, so they wanted to work on it some more and find out why, so that issue of the motor jumping would/should have been noticed.

Review: Originally, I sent my van in to the shop, because it was shutting off on its own. There were no other problems with the van, besides that it was shutting off on its own. The garage replaced the computer with a used computer. They also replaced the distributor cap and rotor, when those had been replaced new before a few days before it was in AC Auto's possession. I was never informed of the work that would be done, nor the charges, besides for the computer. On 09/04/14, The garage told me I the van was fixed and I could pick it up. I picked up the van on 09/15/14, when I had all of the money, $312.70. I turned the corner from the garage and I was having trouble pressing on the brakes, the engine was jumping and shaking and the van was also accelerating on its own, so I had to try to hold down the break while it was driving, until I could pull over. I took it back to the garage and Tommy, let me know that I would need a new motor mount. And gave me tips on how to drive it in the meantime until I could get it fixed. He did not attempt to check why the brakes were not working or why it was accelerating on its own.Desired Settlement: I picked up my van with additional problems than what I had dropped it off in. I would like a refund of the money I paid the garage ($312.70), since now I have to take it to another garage to have them fix these problems. If I am not refunded the money I paid, I will file a complaint with the Pennsylvania Attorney General.
