Acacia Apartments Reviews (%countItem)

I recently moved out of these apartments. I lived in a 430 sq ft apartment. They sent me a letter saying that I owe them $1779.90 worth of damages. They charged me $850 to repaint. When I asked why they had to repaint they said it was because of two screw holes. They then said if they repaint one spot, the whole apartment has to be repainted. Also, they charged me $463 for new carpet. When I asked what was wrong with the carpet she said it was damaged and that there was paint everywhere. I never painted the walls. I got charged $160 for resurfacing the bathtub. I let them know that I had photos from when maintenance came out to fix an issue with the tub and got some orange/yellow glue everywhere on the tub. I called the office and they just told me to "save the pictures for when I mover out". I also got charged for an extra day of rent even though they have the money order that had the date of moveout. Which was a day earlier then when I was supposed to move out. I would never suggest anyone to live here. I'm considering legal action as well.

provided a 30 day notice and moved out on 9/4/19. The move out date was corrected and *** was not charged an extra day. Per the move out inspection form, she refused a walk through prior to move out. I have attached photos of the unit after *** vacated the unit. Additional photos of damages and invoices can provided.

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because:

I don't really see how those two little holes in the wall cost $850? And I DID NOT leave the bathtub like that. I think that I'm being way overcharged for a 430 square foot apartment. Also, the walk through inspection was scheduled when I had a day off and no one from the office showed up. I never rejected the inspection. I wanted to do the inspection so that I would be able to fix what needed to be fixed before we moved out. This apartment is the most ridiculously unorganized place. I even got a phone call from the office 2 days after I turned in my keys asking if I had turned in my keys because they had misplaced them.
Regards

My formal complaint is consist of receiving my full refund back of 150 dollars and the entire two years 1 month 1 day I was staying there. Since I was unaware of the mold issues being visible until I took my pictures down and looked at the window seal along with the ceiling in the bathroom closet and living area. They are trying to make me pay for the mold damages to there walls and carpet which is completely unfair. They are owe me my full refund especially with the fact I took sick and was injured on property by their poor care of this property. My personal furniture got damaged by the green/ black mold in the apartment. Which was also in the air.

I'm complaining because I got my money the day before late charges I couldn't get to office before closing. There is no nite drop box. I was previously told by staff that as long as money order has the date before late fees, it would be honored. Since office was closed when I went to work and when I got off, I had to go get another money order for $40 late fee. I don't understand how this is possible. I've never seen this in writing. I'm requesting my late fee be reimbursed due I'm not at fault. By the way I'm on month to month and considering moving and advise everyone to take precaution when considering this property.

Acacia Apartments Response

I have looked into this with our Area Supervisors office and our policy has always been rent must be paid by the 5th and if its not a $40 late charge will be due. I have attached a copy of the Rental Agreement. Please let me know if I can answer any other questions.

Sincerely,

Hi my name is ***, I stay in Warren Inn off of Denton highway in Haltom City Texas and I am writing you in regards to the unstable living conditions this apartment complex is putting people in then they are trying to raise the rent and make the outside look better by painting the building so new customers can be fooled. Upon living here I've experienced heavy leaks "Video Proof" where I had to replace all of my bathroom appliances due to them getting soaked in nasty water from the apartment above me, I've recently experienced ants coming into my unit and having to wait weeks for someone to come out then if I tell them to let me know when someone is coming out they won't so I never know if the Jesus is really taken care of or not. I moved into this unit with no new carpet and same appliances as the previous owner and now they are seeking more money to upgrade some of the units surrounding me but don't want to fix my issues. They office people are very rude so I am involving you guys so there won't be any verbal or physical altercations in the near future. Please help and thank you.

Acacia Apartments Response

I have gotten in touch with our Area Supervisor and asked her about these concerns. The carpet was last replaced on 6/22/16. The apartment was sprayed for ants on 9/15/17. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Thank you for contacting Warren Properties.

Sincerely,

***
