Ms*** applied for an apartment online from our
website on 9/9/ There was an issue with her application being integrated from the website into our system Due to an issue with the website, Ms*** was charged the $Application Fee twice
Ms*** sent an email to Acadia on 9/9/to ensure that we had received her application Ms*** was contacted on the morning of 9/10/to go over the details of her application Upon speaking with Ms***, we explained we were not offering a month lease term as she had indicated was her preference We explained we were offering a or month lease term based on her moving in during the month of September We also explained that while we did not have a garage available in the building she applied for, we do have garages available and we would find her a garage as close to her unit as possible On the morning of 9/10/15, Ms*** informed us she was no longer interested in applying for the apartment as we would not allow her to do a month lease term and we did not have a garage available in the same building as the apartment
When applying online, the system does list 6-month lease terms as options However, on our website it does state "Minimum lease terms and occupancy guidelines may apply" Because we manage our lease expirations, and only allow a certain number of leases to expire monthly, we do not always have 6,7,8,9,10,11,month leases available Due to Fair Housing Laws and practices, we cannot offer something to an online applicant that we would not offer to an applicant who applies in person
When applying online, at the top of the page when entering payment information, there is a warning in capital letters that states "APPLICATION FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE" Because we inform applicants at the time they are entering their payment information that the Application Fees are nonrefundable, we cannot refund both Application Fees Ms*** entered her payment information in order to apply for an apartment, and while there was an issue with the website, it was Ms*** who informed us she was no longer interested in renting the apartment Because of the error with the website and Ms*** being incorrectly charged the $Application Fee twice, a refund in the amount of $for the second application fee was processed on 9/15/ On 9/16/15, Ms*** was informed the refund for the second application fee had been processed We also explained the refund could take 2-business days to be returned to her bank account from 9/15/
We have apologized to her for any misunderstanding and wish her the best in her search for an apartment home Thank you and please let us know should you request additional information

website on 9/9/2015. There was an issue with her application being integrated from the website into our system. Due to an issue with the website, Ms. [redacted] was charged the $55.00 Application Fee twice.
Ms. [redacted] sent an email to Acadia on 9/9/15 to ensure that we had received her application. Ms. [redacted] was contacted on the morning of 9/10/2015 to go over the details of her application. Upon speaking with Ms. [redacted], we explained we were not offering a 6 month lease term as she had indicated was her preference. We explained we were offering a 7 or 8 month lease term based on her moving in during the month of September. We also explained that while we did not have a garage available in the building she applied for, we do have garages available and we would find her a garage as close to her unit as possible.
