Acadian Millwork

Review: In 2007, we purchased 12 custom-fitted single-pane wood windows from Acadian Millwork. They crafted the windows. We installed and painted the windows ourselves. This was a significant investment in our historic home, nearly $6,000. Now, in 2014, five of the 12 windows are rotting from assumed water damage. Acadian's stance is that they are not painted sufficiently and water has somehow gotten into the wood. All 12 windows were painted in the same manner with the same paint. Only five are rotting, all in the same area. We hold that there is a defect in the craftsmanship of the windows. Acadian has offered no assistance in rectifying this problem other than to sell us new window sashes. Clearly they sold us a product of substandard quality as it has deteriorated in less than 10 years.Desired Settlement: I would like Acadian to replace the damaged sashes and/or refund some part of the cost of the 5 damaged windows.

At this time, I have been contacted directly by Acadian Millwork regarding complaint ID 10115246, however my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I am waiting for them to come out and see the windows. They have been slow to respond and set a date.
