Accent Awnings

customer was aware the awning was tarred to the house, as he had this done to stop water from coming in behind the original awning. Unfortunately the Awning couldn’t be removed without removing the tar from the awning. The customer needs to have the awning tarred to roof, as he had done in the past. Accent did not and cannot contract to do roofing work. We did schedule to meet with the customer, but the customer wasn’t able to make the appointment time agreed upon. While waiting for the customer to arrive we took photos to discuss the problem with the customer over the phone. We’re terribly sorry this wasn’t brought to our attention in advance, so we could address the problem prior to contracting to do the work.

I was not aware of the tar connection between the roofline and canvas awning until the first rain when indeed Accent Awning brought it to my attention.  I assumed Accent Awning Co. would have emphasized their limitations with installation. Unfortunately, I the consumer was victimized in paying for a product that is inferior. Yes, the old awning was weather beaten with tears but it never leaked!  It is obvious the homeowners in Lincoln Park take pride in historical home preservation.  I should have never replaced it with an second class product as Accent Awning, I assumed they knew what they were doing.  Communication seem to be a weakness with Accent Awning.  Yes the representative said he was going to look at the awning but again did not necessitate my presence.  My dissatisfaction with Accent Awning has consumed entirely too much of my time.  I have forewarned the  residents of Lincoln Park and to whomever expresses interest in a canvas canopy not to use Accent Awning.  I thank Revdex.com for their time and interest.[redacted]
