Accents in Concrete

We had a stamped concrete patio installed 2 years ago and when the contractor was doing the work I asked if he had any concerns about pouring the step up against my house. He assured me it was done all the time and not to worry. Well 2 years later I had mold growing out of the side of my house and when I pulled the siding back it revealed a significant amount of mold and dry rot damage. He never put up a vapor barrier and basically the only thing protecting the wood was Tyvek wrap. When I asked him to come out and look his response was well it was 2 years ago and I don't normally fix this kind of stuff. He showed up at my house looked and the damage, explained that this never happens and that he will ask around how to fix it but basically he would caulk it and that should do the trick. He said he would call back in a week and ask around how to fix it, but we haven't heard a response and had another contractor come out and make the repairs. If he is doing the work I would question him on any stuff that is touching your house as he literally poured it right up against the siding. I am very disappointed and based on my experience I would not recommend him to do any work.
