Access Gas Services Inc

A rep came to my door on FridayI asked him if he was selling something he said, no, that Access Gas provides all the gas to Fortis and they, on behalf of the BC regulator, was sending people around to sign up for a locked in priceI was confused and asked many questions, he had an answer for every oneHe showed me all the fliers we supposedly get in our bills, where we are urged to sign up to programs to protect usHe said people don't read them and don't sign up, which, is true in my case, I don't read themI was still confused as to why we would have to opt in to a program when the regulator already sets prices and why I had days to cancel when I wasn't being sold something but I trusted the salesperson (who told me he wasn't a salesperson at all)
After reviewing the papers, I realize I actually was tricked into changing gas providers at $2+ more a gj than I'm paying with FortisIt's my fault but I was flat out lied to and feel for the older and vulnerable folks who fear that their gas rates will go up if they don't "opt in"
I have received a confirmation # after cancelling my contract within days, which I'm grateful for but would not recommend this company to anyone
