Excellent company to deal withWill Lanier came to fix my lock within ten minutesHighly recommended
Complaint-Poor customer service entailing 1 1/2 hour wait when quoted 10-15 minutes-5 minutes of work and then charged $200-Disrespectful technicianI was locked out of my house on Wednesday night , July 20, 2016 and gave them a call at 9:15pm. The operator was nice enough, telling me he was sorry about my situation, and that someone would be there within the next 10-15 minutes. He also gave me a price quote: $15 to have someone come out and take a look and $35 starting price (roughly $45 total original estimate). After 45 minutes no one had showed up. I called the operator back and informed him that I had not seen or heard from anyone. He put me on hold for a few minutes and then got back on the line to say that he was sorry, someone would be there within 10-15 minutes. The technicians finally arrived at 10:35pm. They spent less than a minute trying to pick the lock and then informed me the lock was unable to be picked; it would have to be drilled. I was assured that it was no problem to drill the lock (it would take less than a minute) and they would be able to open the door. Without informing me of the price, they went ahead and drilled and then told me I owed them $195 (for less than 5 minutes worth of work). I asked if I could have a discount because of the long wait time I had experienced. They informed me that they could take of the $15 service call charge only if I paid cash! I called their supervisor, who informed me the technicians would have to name the discount and I would have to honor the price they listed. After talking with their supervisor, they brought the price down another $10 and I finally agreed to pay as I felt I had no other choice. The final bill was $170 (paid in cash). Both the operator and technicians were quite rude when I challenged the price, and as they left I heard the technicians making derogatory comments about me using language I don't care to repeat. In looking at the receipt I was given, it clearly states at the bottom: "Estimates are for labor only, material additional." There was only labor involved in their service, no materials were needed or used.Desired SettlementI would like an explanation of the charges, and feel that I am owed an apology by the company and a price adjustment. I feel that I was exposed to false advertising, perhaps extortion (it seems odd to me that they would only give me a discount only f I paid in cash), and rude customer service.
