The owner of this business is unwilling to talk to or help customersHe is willing to get bad reviews all over town, lose business from other local business owners (myself) and force me to bad mouth the business all over town to keep people from getting ripped off the same way I didDo not get a membership hereGo to Planet Fitness, which offers the same package for a cheaper price, better customer service, and more quality care for customersIf this owner would have just taken minutes out of his time to speak with me directly, we probably could have am handled th situation and made things better and come to a conclusion that worked for him and IHowever, he would not, and the result is bad reviews, and loss of businessIt's a sad shameI would never tell a customer I wouldn't speak with them involving any matter, and certainly would not allow my staff to take a holier than thou approach when speaking to a customer

I became a member of this gym in late 2012, for the past years I have called faxed emailed requests to cancel my membership, all times I have been denied & told that I must come in the gym "in person" before the 5th of the month to cancel membershipI found this request ridiculous as I have to travel extensively for work and this payment often slips my mindThey have taken over $from me over the coarse of the time I haven't been an "active" member there & despite numerous requests to cancel this membershipOn 6/1/16, I looked at my bank account and saw an additional charge of $39, I called & asked to speak to a manager, Sean was quit rude & not accommodating nor understanding of my situation & blew me off & that this new charge was my "yearly" dues, this came as a surprise to me! Living in a military town this business practice is unsettling as we travel always and can be moved with short notice and the last thing on our minds is canceling a gym membership "in person"

Do not get a membership here. Go to Planet Fitness, which offers the same package for a cheaper price, better customer service, and more quality care for customers. If this owner would have just taken 30 minutes out of his time to speak with me directly, we probably could have am handled th situation and made things better and come to a conclusion that worked for him and I. However, he would not, and the result is bad reviews, and loss of business. It's a sad shame. I would never tell a customer I wouldn't speak with them involving any matter, and certainly would not allow my staff to take a holier than thou approach when speaking to a customer.

I went to cancel my membership 3 days before the next payment would be taken from my checking. The owner explained the cancellation policy dictates that one must cancel 12 days before payment to stop payment. I propose that this was strategically place so customers will not cancel in time so they could clip another payment from members. While this may be "legal" it certainly is not ethical. I find it appalling that a business will stoop so low. Netflix I can cancel within 1 minute. Other businesses may require 2-3 days. This policy needs to change. It is taking advantage of people who are living busy lives like myself. Shame on them.
