Accomplished Chimney Company, Inc. Reviews (2)

I should have listened to my neighbor's comment that Accomplished kept finding more things wrong with her chimney. We got an estimate of $1900 for a chimney chase and cap in stainless steel. Once they took the old chase off they found that water had leaked into the chimney. Then, the damage went further down. We were told that the siding had to be removed, the insulation replaced since it was moldy, the flue was rusted, the chimney was not properly built 22 years ago, and so on. Since we know nothing about chimneys and the chase was already off, what do you do? Was this really worth $22,000? I think we were ripped off, but we'll never know for sure. Buyer beware!

Review: Chipped bricks in the chimney were to be repaired with concrete which the company did not complete and in lieu replaced a new chimney crown.

Contract states installation of new gutter clips which were not done, however the original clips were relocated to a different location on the down spouts.

The "serviceman ' [redacted] was aware of the broken bricks in the chimney as he showed me the brick chips in his hand and I verbally agreed to chimney repair for $500.00 including gutter cleaning.

Response:

The above customer contracted us to do gutter work and to install a new crown. l haVe enclosed a copy of the signed contract on the work performed on November 29, 2013. [redacted] our servicemen on date of service advised [redacted] That the chimney needs to be rebuilt; she stated that she did not want to spend any money since she was going to sell her house in the next year. He had given her a price of $600 to do the work that she contracted the company to do and had to go down on the price to $500.00. [redacted] had the gutters cleaned and reinforced with gutter clips which were part of. the repair work agreed upon, and a new crown installed on the chimney. We feel that the work was completed as contracted.

I am rejecting this response because: Apparently there has been a lot of miscommunication between the company and myself. I did not contact the company to do gutters and a "crown". I contacted them to clean the gutters and inspect for leaks on the front gutters. [redacted] offered $ 50.00 to clean the gutters which is stated on their coupon. I inquired as to chimney repair(indicating brick re-cementing).At the time I had no idea what a chimney crown was . [redacted] and [redacted] wanted to inspect my furnace and chimney in the basement, which I allowed. They tried to sell me on replacing the chimney liner, which I had done a few years ago and I know is expensive, I adamantly declined their offer. After [redacted] left the house [redacted] proposed $1100 to do the chimney and gutters, then he dropped the price to $600 then he offered $500 and I accepted. At no time was crown replacement discussed. I had no idea what constituted the difference in pricing. They requested I stay in the house while work was being done and after completion [redacted] came in and asked me to sign the contract and pay them 500.00. I did not review the work until they left.

I don't expect them to return and repair the chimney to my specifications without additional money. I do not trust this company and want nothing further to do with them. I would like any further prospective customers be aware of their underhanded tactics.

Response:

At this time this consumer is stating that she does not want anything to do with us. I did send a signed copy of the contract with our paperwork stating all the work that we were contracted to do was completed. This consumer read the contract, agreed upon it and signed it. We are family owned and operated for many years, licensed and insured. We stand by our work, unfortunately there are a few customers that no matter what is done for them they will never be satisfied.

If you have any questions in reference to this matter please do not hesitate to call us [redacted]

Thank you,
