Accountant's World Payroll - Bait and Switch!!
We are a small firm with about a dozen payroll clients. We've used their Payroll Relief software for about two years. Pretty pricey at $435 for access and then having to buy 1500 checks minimum at $1500, but it worked well for us and so I was willing to pay a little more. However, our software renewed in November, and then we ran out of checks mid-December, so we had to buy more (minimum of 1000, but we got 1500 to get us all the way through the year). Within a week after we spent over $2000 for this software, we got an email that they are FORCING all clients to go to pre-funding of taxes (which means they withdraw their taxes at the time payroll is done, instead of when the taxes are due). I understand this is a money maker for the company, since they'll get to hold all of those funds in their account, sometimes for months when it's something that only gets paid quarterly. However, our clients, do NOT want to do pre-funding! It is why we left ADP years ago. I've lodged a complaint with the company and asked for a refund of all remaining checks and part of the yearly fee, since I see this as a bait and switch, but I've heard nothing back from them. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT TO FORCE YOUR CLIENTS TO PAY ALL OF THEIR TAXES EARLY. They are truly a ripoff!

Review: On December *, 2014, a person by the name of [redacted] called me on the phone and talked me in subscribing to their (AccountantsWorld) 12 months online payroll service. So I subscribed to their 12 months prepaid online payroll service that date. After two days later, I started to view their videos and also worked on their online website to calculate my client's payroll. I found out that I could not calculate a quarterly or an annual payroll in their website. My client needs only one payroll for the year 2014. The Accountants World cannot calculate this kind of payroll. So I contacted Accountants World payroll technical support several times and it was hard to reach someone there. I was able to reach a tech support person on their live chat online but she referred me back to the telephone technical support division several times. The other day I was able to reach the payroll tech support and after speaking to two of the technicians, they told me that their program (payroll service) cannot calculate the kind of payroll that I am trying to do. On December **, 2014 I called [redacted] of Accountants World and left a message on his voice mail to call me back regarding a refund of my $195.00 for I cannot use their online payroll service according to their technicians. I also sent them two emails, one to [redacted] email: [redacted] and one to the billing department email: [redacted] notifying them to immediately cancel my 12 months prepaid payroll subscription with them and that I need a refund of my $195.00 immediately. In about three or four days later when I did not receive a response from them, I contacted their billing department on the phone and they referred me to someone by the name of [redacted] told me that my 12 months payroll prepaid premium is non-refundable and he hung up on me. The other information that I want to bring up is that I just found out that there are two persons by the name of [redacted] that they sent me emails from Accountants World and I did not know either which [redacted] that I have speaking with in dealing with this issue. The two named [redacted] are:

[redacted]-a Practice Development Consultant-mail: [redacted]-phone: ###-###-####. The other [redacted]-a Practice Development Consultant-email: [redacted]-phone: ###-###-####, Ext. [redacted]. Please help refund my $195.00 12 months prepaid payroll service fees. This company is trying to force me to use their service when it does not work for me. It is unethical for them to do this to me. Please let me know if there is any other thing that I can do to help out. I appreciated it very much! [redacted]Desired Settlement: I want these companies who are reaping the public to stop doing these unethical businesses and transactions. I also need to email me the results as well, please. I thank you for your help and I appreciated it very much!

Review: I use thier payroll services throuh my accountant [redacted]. On 3/**/15 Accountantsworld withdrew $8,194.81 for my 3/**/15 payroll. On 3/**/15 we found that nothing was deposited into my employees accounts. I was told that their databse was hacked and that they deposited my employees money into different bank accounts that did not belong to my employees. I was told by my accountant that they did not know when they would be able to return my employees money and that they did not know the extent of this hack. Both my employees and I NEED to understand the extent of this hack. We need to know where our money is, and exactly how much we need to worry about identity theft. We need some understanding about how much of our information has been compromised.Desired Settlement: We would like $8,194.81 returned and an explanation of how exposed our personal data was along with direction on how to protect ourselves from their hack.

Review: Business offered a $50 Amazon gift card for about 5 minutes of my time reviewing a "black and white" paper and completing a questionnaire within 7 days. The review took much longer than about 5 minutes and the gift card was never received. Survey was taken and questionnaire was completed on 8-**-2013. I sent a follow-up e-mail on 9-**-2013 and received an e-mail from their general mailbox on 9-**-2013 telling me to call them. I phoned on 10-**-2013 and spoke to a [redacted] at ###-###-#### and he confirmed all my questionnaire information was received and assured me the gift card would be sent out; he even confirmed my mailing address and tried to hard-sell me their product, to which I replied not interested at this time. Never received the gift card. On 10-**-2013 I again called [redacted] and he once again tried to sell me their product before addressing my gift card inquiry. He checked their records and told me a gift card was mailed to me on 10-**-2013 and confirmed the address where it was allegedly sent. Once again the gift card was never received. On 10-**-2013 I sent another e-mail to the business inquiring as to the status of the gift card and as of 11-**-2013 have received no response to that e-mail, but I did get a mailing from the business soliciting me to purchase their product.Desired Settlement: Receive $50 Amazon gift card as promised.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved. However, the integrity of the employees of this business are highly questionable given the repeated untruthfulness I have been subjected to during every communication with them about this matter.

Sincerely,
