Complaint # [redacted]
Complaint Date: 4/30/2014

**. [redacted],

I am responding to the complaint from **. [redacted] from 4/30/14.  **. [redacted] had two open balances with our agency in 2013.  **. [redacted] did pay both of these balances in full on 12/20/2013.  The CBR listing was updated as of February 2014 to update his reported balance of $170.00 as paid in full.  **. [redacted] has contacted our office regarding this entry and we have advised him of our update.  ARB does submit mass updates to the credit bureau as is common practice on a monthly basis and if needed by the customer; ARB is able to provide a copy of the credit bureau deletion request.
As far as actual timing of when the credit bureaus update an individual consumer account that is not under ARB’s control. ARB can only make the request for the update to the consumer’s credit report to the reporting agency and it is based on the internal policies of the credit reporting agencies to update the account. It is not typically the practice to delete the account from the credit bureau once it is placed but simply to update the balance and report it is paid.

To help resolve this ARB has requested a manual deletion of the debt at ARB that was paid by the customer. A copy of the deletion request is included in this response.

We are hopeful this response will satisfy the complaint made by [redacted]

Sincerely,

[redacted]
Director

Good afternoon,
Attached is the documentation we received from **. [redacted]. This has nothing to do with credit bureau entries.  This information lists all of the debt that was owed for the bankruptcy.  Accounts Recovery Bureau, Inc. does not have record of any credit bureau entries made on these properties.  In an effort to assist **. [redacted], please ask him to provide a copy of the credit bureau entries that he feels we have made so I can further research this and resolve the matter for him.
Thank you,

Accounts Recovery Bureau already deleted all the collections accounts. Thanks for you help!!

Review: I had an account enter into collections handled by this company. I payed my balance in full in December of 2013 (12/23/2013 was when the payment posted to my checking account). As of 4/30/2014 the account still shows as in collection and active on my credit report. I was assured that this would be removed from my credit history. I understand it may have not happened within a week or two but I hoped that within a month it would be removed. It has now been over four months and it is still not removed.Desired Settlement: I would like to formally be contacted and provided documentation that this account has been payed in full and the collection be deleted from my credit report.

Review: After my son's surgery I heard nothing in regards to bills. As his father was the primary insured and everything went to his address. After 4 years I started receiving letters and constant phone calls from this collection agency. Within 4 weeks I paid in full the pay off amount they gave me. My main issue is that once they received their money they did not even take the time to remove it from my credit or report it as paid.Desired Settlement: I would like it removed from my credit or at least marked as paid in full.

Complaint # [redacted]

Complaint Date: 1/9/14

**. [redacted],

I am responding to the complaint from **. [redacted] dated 1/9/14 regarding his account placed with ARB from the [redacted] County Clerk of Courts for restitution concerning a fine.

ARB sent bills and attempted phone contact with **. [redacted] prior to this complaint.

We received return mail that was sent to the same address listed on this complaint.

We did attempt to contact **. [redacted] after the complaint was received to clarify the bill in question and to verify his address. We called **. [redacted] on 1/10/14 and he stated he does not conduct business over the phone and wanted contact in writing only.

We requested an itemized bill from [redacted] County Clerk of Courts which will be sent to the address provided in the complaint.

His credit bureau will be marked as disputed since he did submit a dispute, however based on the date of birth, address and name they do match what is in the [redacted] terminal and what the county has on record for **. [redacted] and this fine. If he feels that this billing is in error from the County Clerk’s office he will need to provide more validation information for us to research with.

Unless further proof is provided by **. [redacted] for us to be able to investigate his account will remain in collections and his credit bureau will be marked as disputed. He will not be contacted by phone by ARB. If further proof is provided, ARB will continue the investigation with our client.

We are hopeful this response will satisfy the complaint made by **. [redacted].

Sincerely,

Director

Review: I have paid off my overdo balance. This was confirmed by the company I owed the money to ( [redacted]). Both [redacted] and I have contacted ARB about being paid up, but I still receive notices in the mail, and phone calls saying I owe money. I am afraid this is effecting my credit rating unecessarilly. In the mean time, [redacted] said they will try to contact ARB again to straighten it out. [redacted] has said they have had many problems with ARB, and are trying to find another collection agency. I do want to add that the letters and phone calls have NOT been threatening. I'm just frustrated that I can't get this resoleved with ARB. Thank YouDesired Settlement: That they delete my balance, and it doesn't effect my credit.

Review: This company has called me almost every day, sometimes multiple times a day, for the past several weeks. I have communicated to them that they had the wrong number on multiple occasions by following the directions on the automated message but the calls will not stop. They will not stop harassing me. The person they are trying to reach does not live at this number.Desired Settlement: I just want them to stop calling me.

Review: I work for a State of Maryland Agency and was called at work and harassed about a debt that my adult daughter may or may not have from this collection agency. The collection agency has no business what so ever contacting me or my place of employment to harass me about a debt. I am not responsible for her financial matters nor have I co-signed any loans or purchases. My daughter does not work where the collection agency called. When I ordered the supervisor to remove my phone number from their data base and not to call here ever again, she told me that THEY CAN CALL AND HARASS ANYONE to collect a debt.Supervisor: [redacted]Manager: [redacted]Desired Settlement: I want the collection agency to CEASE and DESIST any contact to my home or place of employment.

Review: I have received several phone calls from the "Accounts Recovery Bureau." However, I have not been able to reach anyone at the bureau to inquire about and/or pay the balance which they claim is due.

When I answer the bureau's phone calls, I hear an automated message, and I am unable to connect to anyone. When I call back, I also receive an automated message. I have left a voicemail, and I have not heard back from anyone. I have also received a written notice, but there is no indication of what the debt collection is for. I have no debt that I am aware of.

The account number that is on the written notice is #[redacted]. It says I owe [redacted] $115.06.Desired Settlement: I would like an explanation of these charges, which I am happy to pay if they are in fact legitimate. Otherwise, I would like the Accounts Recovery Bureau to cease contacting me.

Subject: Re: You have a new message from the Revdex.com of Metro Washington

DC & Eastern Pennsylvania in regards to your complaint #[redacted]

I am writing to inform you that I was able to resolve my complaint

#[redacted]. After I notified the Accounts Recovery Bureau that I had

contacted the Revdex.com, they were helpful in resolving my issue.

Thank you,

Review: I was in a ch 13 bankruptcy that recently ended. I had several accounts I was not aware of due to the practice of collection agency not being able to pursue those in bankruptcy. A credit report was run at the end of my ch 13. When I learned of the account with ARB, I called them; the account was from 2009, I paid it. They told me the credit agencies would be informed within 2-3 weeks.

A new credit report was run 4 weeks later and the accounts were still there. I called. They were not nice. They said I was misinformed the first time. They only remove accounts from the credit bureaus once a month, and only if it falls on a business day.Desired Settlement: ARB needs to accurately report paid accounts to the credit bureaus in a timely manner; otherwise, they are knowingly reporting false information for an excessive amount of time. Reading about this at consumer reports.org this is a punitive issue if taken to court. I have no desire to do this, I would just like to see people treated fairly.
