Mrand Mrs [redacted] contracted with Accredited Roofing on May 9, to repair a small area of fascia on the front corner of the home and to have commercial size gutters installed At time of signing, the ***s indicated they would like the work done within a week And while we strive our best to make customer requests, the weather was such in the month of May that scheduling was difficult due to many bouts of rain We rescheduled for May 24, Our gutter team was very backed up on that day and could not get to that project before the rain came in on that day The ***s were disappointed as to be expected Their response to the further delay was cursing at the comfort advisor At that point, I took over the management of the project The start date was rescheduled to May with a discount of $to ease their displeasure about the delay Mrand Mrs [redacted] paid via check June 1, and indicated that they were satisified with the project On June 2, 2016, Mrs [redacted] contacted the office and indicated that the gutter system was leaking She also indicated that she placed a stop payment on her check We were a bit confused in regards to the leaking as the area did not even experience rain from the time we collected the check to her early morning call Regardless, we scheduled an appointment that very day with the ***s and told them to have a cashier’s check or cash available to pay the amount due Payment is expected at time services are rendered Our comfort advisor spent two hours on site testing the gutter system with a hose Video is available of this testing The gutters performed as expected with no leaking The ***s indicated that they would like their children to view this performance Our comfort advisor indicated that was completed acceptable but that if the gutters were adjusted it would void all warranties Payment was made in cash and they indicated they were satisifiedOn June 2, 2016, the ***’s insurance company contacted our office in regards to the recent project The adjustor was asking if we contracted to do a roof repair or what other work we had done for the ***s The adjustor also inquired as to the linear footage involved with the project and the size of the guttering system All answers were provided to the adjustor according to the work order At the end of the conversation, it was stated that the ***s upgraded their gutter system and that more footage was involved then the insurance company paid for Please note, Accredited Roofing was unaware that this was an insurance claimOn June at 8:p.m., the ***’s contacted the comfort advisor to indicate the gutters were leaking yet again On June at 8:a.m., I contacted the ***s to indicate that the gutter team would be out sometime on the 15th to address any and all concerns The ***s filed a complaint on June at approximately 1:p.m At approximately 4:pm on June 15, the gutter team arrived on site to inspect the guttering system and address any and all concerns The team set up their ladders and retrieved a hose to test the guttering system yet again This test was set up while spraying water on the roof system to simulate rain Video is available of this test This was done for over an hour without any leaking or deviation from expected performance on the gutter system Mr [redacted] spent approximately minutes on the roof surface spraying water directly into the gutter system from the roof The water from the hose splashed off the back surface of the front of the gutter system This test is not indicative of rainfall and our guttering team explained this to Mr [redacted] during this test Regardless during this test the fascia (area between the gutters and the roof) did not leak Mr [redacted] also pulled back the shingles during this test and sprayed water directly on the roof sheeting This test also did not show evidence of leaking at the fascia At this testing, our gutter specialist offered to meet with any guttering contractor of the Mr***’s choice to be shown where the gutter system is installed incorrectly Mr [redacted] would not disclose who the “other” company was nor did he offer to make such appointmentThe ***’s fascia board was also inspected at this time While no detoriation or rotting was observed, there was evidence of some waviness which would keep the gutter system from running flush with the fascia board This is very common condition in older homes and as long as the gutter system is under the shingle over hang this does not affect the performance of the guttering systemIn summary, we went to the ***’s property as promised on the June In the desired settlement, this is what they requested We did not find evidence of leaking between the house and the gutters nor could Mr [redacted] replicated the leaking between the house and gutters with a hoseSettlement offers: Request the ***’s to provide video evidence of the leaking between the roof and gutters during an actual rainstorm.Meet with any contractor of the customer’s choice to discuss the correctness of the installation on the gutter system and make corrections as necessary

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/09/01) */
Mr*** *** is accurate in his explanation of what has occurred to date What I would like to point out is that every time he has an issue we are there within a week to make corrections Also we have repaired his interior before and he
is aware that we wait thru two hard rains with every warranty repair to ensure that there are no further issues
Mr*** wanted to speed the process up due to out of town guests coming
While we understand his concerns, we have been timely in responding to any issues that arise Last we spoke with Mr*** he was not leaking any longer Given the Revdex.com complaint, we have not spoke to him further as we would to ensure that the roof did not leak thru the last hard rain
We are willing to repair the interior as promised, given the roof is no longer leaking and that we have a second hard rain to ensure such

We do find ourselves in an unfortunate situation with the ***. We did contract with her as stated. We did have the materials delivered by ** *** with specific instructions in writing to stack the shingles across the ridge evenly. Given the materials would be stacked evenly
across the ridge, the weight would have been evenly distributed and structural damage does not occur. If our instructions had been followed as stated, we would not find ourselves in this position. ** *** stacked the roof in a pallet stock fashion on this property. In all the years we have worked with ** (since 2005) we have never had them stock a roof to this regard. It is also an industry standard to stack evenly across the ridge in existing constructionMrs*** did notify us of cracking on the plaster walls after the delivery which was forward to ** ***. During the day of production, additional issues were noted from the delivery. We had a production manager on site approximately hours after the crews arrivalAt this point the roof was more than half torn off. Our insurance will not cover an open roof, it must be covered. We called ** *** to the site to review the damage as we are holding them responsible for not following our instructions. Their representative told us to install the roof, they would get their insurance company out and take care of everything. This information was then relayed to Mrs*** and we proceeded with production. We have contacted our insurance and per their advice we must wait until ** ***’s insurance finalize their settlement. Our agent is fully aware of this situation. (FURTHER UPDATE BELOW) We have also patiently waited for *** *** to finalize their settlement with Mrs***. We feel they have purposely dragged their feet in a resolve for Mrs***. This damage was noted on August 17, and the structural engineer was not sent to Mrs*** to September 11, 2017. All delays in resolve are on the part of the insurance and ** ***. Unfortunately we have to wait just as anyone else for the insurance company and our supplier to resolve the mistakes they have made by not following our instructions. In the meantime, Mrs*** has become quite agitated due to the frustration. I want to add her frustration is understandable. She has spent more than one occasion being very rude on the phone to the office manager, owner and our insurance agent. We have not withheld information from Mrs***. We have provided her with updates when given to us from *** *** or ** ***. Any foot work she has done is due to her impatience with the process. We are not in control of that. At this point, ** *** and *** *** are determining their liability in this situation as they caused the damage by not following written instructions. Given the insurance company is in the process of determining liability, we can not speak to what if anything we may be liable forInsurance claims take quite a bit of time particularly in the commercial industry. We are not in control of that. We are also frustrated. We were patiently waiting on them to do as their representative had indicated. *** ***, Sales Representatve nor *** ***, Risk Manager and their claims adjuster from *** ***, *** *** did not return my multiple calls or emails asking for status updates to keep Mrs*** informed of their settlement. In fact, I finally reached the Risk Manager on September at 1:30, he told me to work with *** *** as they are removing themselves from the situation and will not speak with me further. We have filed an insurance claim to determine our responsibility and liability, if any. We can not speak with Mrs*** due to her agitation, frustration and lack of patience. She takes statements out of context and quite frankly throws them in your face under a different meaning. In the meantime, she is on social media posting negative information and complaining to the Revdex.com. We are working with our insurance company and ** ***’s insurance company to come to resolve for Mrs***. If we are responsible, which we believe we are not, then we will handle accordinglyGiven this situation can not be resolved until everyone’s insurance has hashed it out, I am not sure what Mrs*** is trying to accomplish by this complaint. WE have to wait to the insurance has settled with her and that is in process. I can not speak to any responsibility, liability or resolve until the insurance has settled outWe believe this complaint is filed prematurely. We would like to ask that it be held until the insurance settlements from *** *** and our carrier are in to move forward. Tell us why here

01/18/[left consumer vm and sent email] Please give me a call on my home number *** at your convenience. *** ***Well, since September *** ***'s insurance company did come up with some funds, but, only about 1/of what is needed to rectify everythingAt first, my insurance company would not pay, but, after *** agreed to pay some, they surprisingly stepped in and are paying most of the balance needed to get this straightened out (guess they'll do subrogation against Accredited Roofing's insurance)The wrinkle is that Accredited did not do the venting and some other things they were supposed to do under the contractI think I should be compensated for what they did not do or else they owe me part of the repair of thatYet, he could not come back and work on the venting, etcas the whole roof had to be taken offI called him about paying something toward my troubles (mentioning how his website promises a 100% satisfaction guarantee)He told me to take him to court. Understand I need to crystalize at this point (since my insurance company and *** ***'s are paying to have things rectified) what I want Accredited to do or to pay me and what it is based on before you can contact themI have a lot of records, etc on my computer so I will look at this and think about it and get back with youThanks.01/19/2018 Hi ***,Thank you for taking the time to speak to me today. I copied and pasted the charges I feel Accredited should reimburse me below, totaling $1,375.00. Although, Accredited Roofing did furnish and install the ridge vent and vented soffit because it was not "cut in" they were not properly installed so the venting system would not of worked. (I have photographic evidence of this should you need it.) Also some fascia end caps were still missing which I informed Accredited Roofing in writing.Add $to furnish and install ridge vent on main and dormer ridges (___) initial here to accept.Add $to furnish and install vented soffit on front and back of property (___) initial here to accept.Add $to furnish and install new fascia end caps on corners of the house where missing (____) initial here to accept.I think it should be noted that this has been an extreme inconvenience for the past months. I am very happy with my current contractor who is almost finished with the exterior repairs. However, I still have an undetermined amount of time, inconvenience, hassle and mess to deal with the repair of the interior plaster damage that encompasses nearly every room in my house. I would also ask for additional compensation from Accredited Roofing for my time and emotional distress of myself and my familyI think a total compensation of $is more than fair and would put this matter to rest in my opinion. Sincerely *** ***01/22/2018 [left vm on cell phone and sent email that business not going to participate in mediation until after hears from Illinois AG, that I told business consumer desires $2,to settleAlso, complaint could be closed soon since business not participating, but, she could ask to reopen if Illinois AG does not resolve] *** *** 1:PM (minutes ago)to me I'm not surprised. I'll be happy if the complaint is closed and noted that they refused to participate so other consumers can be warned by my experience. I picked this company because they were A+ rated and Revdex.com accredited.01/23/So, you mentioned to them yesterday I would settle for $2,000.00, but they have not changed their position and will not consider doing anything with Revdex.com mediation while Illinois AG is investigatingUnderstand you will close the complaint since they chose not to take part in mediation at this time and it may be awhile before Illinois AG makes a decision

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
I feel I have been defrauded by Accredited Roofing? During their initial sales call I told their sales person, [redacted], that I was previously advised that we would need to add trusses to our roof when replacing? I insisted that he view our existing structure? He did and took pictures? Accredited Roofing advised me verbally that trusses were not needed and bid their work minus such actions (which I was prepared to pay for if needed)? ? ? I contracted with this company to install ridge vent system and vented soffit? In having additional contractors out because of the structural issue I have found it was NOT ventedWhich I would not have known if this did not happen.Accredited should not have sent their roofing crew out to my house to remove the old roof prior to inspection of the damage that I had made them aware of.From having additional contractors observe my framing Accredited should have advised me my structure needed to be reinforced prior to work being done or shingles should have been deliver to my driveway.Accredited also told me [redacted] was the one who told them to put the roof on but [redacted] says NO we only supply materials and can not/did not advise them to put on the roof.[redacted] Accredited's salesman after inspection of damage assured my husband and I that Accredited would take care of us, not to worry and if they had to file a claim and fix our home and then go after [redacted] they would? However, when I finally spoke to [redacted] the owner he said "He doesn't know why [redacted] would say that".After nearly a month and poor communication from the office staff I asked to speak to [redacted] the owner directly? Up to this point I had done all of the leg work with [redacted] and [redacted] myself with NO help from Accredited? I had been advised by [redacted] that Accredited was not cooperating with them and refused to file a claim which was holding up the process.I expressed to [redacted] my frustration, my family had been in a serious and dangerous situation and we were now at a hotel and our animals were still in the house? I just wanted them to file a claim so liability could be established and my house could be fixed? [redacted] refused to help me, blaming [redacted]? Never once has this company apologized to me or been kind and understanding of the emotional and financial distress I am going through trying to get this resolved? In the phone conversation [redacted] suggested I should contact the owner of [redacted] directly because he's rich and can afford it and [redacted] can not? I also have text messages from him confirming similar wording.I did contact Accredited's insurance broker, [redacted], after they gave me her contact information and led me to believe they had filed a claim? When I contacted [redacted] she advised that a claim had not been filed and that her cliwent had not provided her with all of the details I had regarding this damage and that she would file the claim.[redacted] also told me Accredited had not provided all the details pertaining to my damages as I had.I feel other consumers would want to know what Im going through and I have posted honest reviews online and will continue to do so.I emailed Accredited today asking for an update as I still do not have a claim number or adjuster for their insurance and received a rude reply? I understand they are mad at me for all of the action I have taken, Revdex.com claim, negative reviews doing my own leg work but I am legally responsible to mitigate my damages and attempt to get my house fixed before it caves in with winters first snow? If I wait for people to be as interested in fixing my house as I am I will get no where? I have already been patiently and kindly waiting g for a month and am only getting the run around, deflection of blame and no assistance. If needed I will be happy to provide email and text message correspondence which I have kept as reference.? ? ? ?

Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] contracted with Accredited Roofing on May 9, 2016 to repair a small area of fascia...

on the front corner of the home and to have commercial size gutters installed.  At time of signing, the [redacted]s indicated they would like the work done within a week.  And while we strive our best to make customer requests, the weather was such in the month of May that scheduling was difficult due to many bouts of rain.  We rescheduled for May 24, 2016.  Our gutter team was very backed up on that day and could not get to that project before the rain came in on that day.  The [redacted]s were disappointed as to be expected.  Their response to the further delay was cursing at the comfort advisor.   At that point, I took over the management of the project.  The start date was rescheduled to May 31 with a discount of $100.00 to ease their displeasure about the delay.  Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] paid via check June 1, 2016 and indicated that they were satisified with the project.  On June 2, 2016, Mrs. [redacted] contacted the office and indicated that the gutter system was leaking.  She also indicated that she placed a stop payment on her check.  We were a bit confused in regards to the leaking as the area did not even experience rain from the time we collected the check to her early morning call.  Regardless, we scheduled an appointment that very day with the [redacted]s and told them to have a cashier’s check or cash available to pay the amount due.  Payment is expected at time services are rendered.  Our comfort advisor spent two hours on site testing the gutter system with a hose.  Video is available of this testing.  The gutters performed as expected with no leaking.  The [redacted]s indicated that they would like their children to view this performance.  Our comfort advisor indicated that was completed acceptable but that if the gutters were adjusted it would void all warranties.  Payment was made in cash and they indicated they were satisified. On June 2, 2016, the [redacted]’s insurance company contacted our office in regards to the recent project.  The adjustor was asking if we contracted to do a roof repair or what other work we had done for the [redacted]s.  The adjustor also inquired as to the linear footage involved with the project and the size of the guttering system.  All answers were provided to the adjustor according to the work order.  At the end of the conversation, it was stated that the [redacted]s upgraded their gutter system and that more footage was involved then the insurance company paid for.  Please note, Accredited Roofing was unaware that this was an insurance claim. On June 13 at 8:00 p.m., the [redacted]’s contacted the comfort advisor to indicate the gutters were leaking yet again.  On June 14 at 8:00 a.m., I contacted the [redacted]s to indicate that the gutter team would be out sometime on the 15th to address any and all concerns.  The [redacted]s filed a complaint on June 15 at approximately 1:00 p.m.   At approximately 4:00 pm on June 15, the gutter team arrived on site to inspect the guttering system and address any and all concerns.  The team set up their ladders and retrieved a hose to test the guttering system yet again.  This test was set up while spraying water on the roof system to simulate rain.  Video is available of this test.  This was done for over an hour without any leaking or deviation from expected performance on the gutter system.  Mr. [redacted] spent approximately 15 minutes on the roof surface spraying water directly into the gutter system from the roof.  The water from the hose splashed off the back surface of the front of the gutter system.  This test is not indicative of rainfall and our guttering team explained this to Mr. [redacted] during this test.  Regardless during this test the fascia (area between the gutters and the roof) did not leak.  Mr. [redacted] also pulled back the shingles during this test and sprayed water directly on the roof sheeting.  This test also did not show evidence of leaking at the fascia.  At this testing, our gutter specialist offered to meet with any guttering contractor of the Mr. [redacted]’s choice to be shown where the gutter system is installed incorrectly.  Mr. [redacted] would not disclose who the “other” company was nor did he offer to make such appointment. The [redacted]’s fascia board was also inspected at this time.  While no detoriation or rotting was observed, there was evidence of some waviness which would keep the gutter system from running flush with the fascia board.  This is very common condition in older homes and as long as the gutter system is under the shingle over hang this does not affect the performance of the guttering system. In summary, we went to the [redacted]’s property as promised on the June 15.  In the desired settlement, this is what they requested.  We did not find evidence of leaking between the house and the gutters nor could Mr. [redacted] replicated the leaking between the house and gutters with a hose. Settlement offers: Request the [redacted]’s to provide video evidence of the leaking between the roof and gutters during an actual rainstorm.Meet with any contractor of the customer’s choice to discuss the correctness of the installation on the gutter system and make corrections as necessary.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
I feel I have been defrauded by Accredited Roofing.  During their initial sales call I told their sales person, [redacted], that I was previously advised that we would need to add trusses to our roof when replacing.  I insisted that he view our existing structure.  He did and took pictures.  Accredited Roofing advised me verbally that trusses were not needed and bid their work minus such actions (which I was prepared to pay for if needed).      I contracted with this company to install ridge vent system and vented soffit.  In having additional contractors out because of the structural issue I have found it was NOT vented. Which I would not have known if this did not happen.Accredited should not have sent their roofing crew out to my house to remove the old roof prior to inspection of the damage that I had made them aware of.From having additional contractors observe my framing Accredited should have advised me my structure needed to be reinforced prior to work being done or shingles should have been deliver to my driveway.Accredited also told me [redacted] was the one who told them to put the roof on but [redacted] says NO we only supply materials and can not/did not advise them to put on the roof.[redacted] Accredited's salesman after inspection of damage assured my husband and I that Accredited would take care of us, not to worry and if they had to file a claim and fix our home and then go after [redacted] they would.  However, when I finally spoke to [redacted] the owner he said "He doesn't know why [redacted] would say that".After nearly a month and poor communication from the office staff I asked to speak to [redacted] the owner directly.  Up to this point I had done all of the leg work with [redacted] and [redacted] myself with NO help from Accredited.  I had been advised by [redacted] that Accredited was not cooperating with them and refused to file a claim which was holding up the process.I expressed to [redacted] my frustration, my family had been in a serious and dangerous situation and we were now at a hotel and our animals were still in the house.  I just wanted them to file a claim so liability could be established and my house could be fixed.  [redacted] refused to help me, blaming [redacted].  Never once has this company apologized to me or been kind and understanding of the emotional and financial distress I am going through trying to get this resolved.  In the phone conversation [redacted] suggested I should contact the owner of [redacted] directly because he's rich and can afford it and [redacted] can not.  I also have text messages from him confirming similar wording.I did contact Accredited's insurance broker, [redacted], after they gave me her contact information and led me to believe they had filed a claim.  When I contacted [redacted] she advised that a claim had not been filed and that her cliwent had not provided her with all of the details I had regarding this damage and that she would file the claim.[redacted] also told me Accredited had not provided all the details pertaining to my damages as I had.I feel other consumers would want to know what Im going through and I have posted honest reviews online and will continue to do so.I emailed Accredited today asking for an update as I still do not have a claim number or adjuster for their insurance and received a rude reply.  I understand they are mad at me for all of the action I have taken, Revdex.com claim, negative reviews doing my own leg work but I am legally responsible to mitigate my damages and attempt to get my house fixed before it caves in with winters first snow.  If I wait for people to be as interested in fixing my house as I am I will get no where.  I have already been patiently and kindly waiting g for a month and am only getting the run around, deflection of blame and no assistance. If needed I will be happy to provide email and text message correspondence which I have kept as reference.

01/18/2018 [left consumer vm and sent email]  Please give me a call on my home number [redacted] at your convenience.  [redacted]Well, since September [redacted]'s insurance company did come up with some funds, but, only about 1/2 of what is needed to rectify everything. At first, my insurance company would not pay, but, after [redacted] agreed to pay some, they surprisingly stepped in and are paying most of the balance needed to get this straightened out (guess they'll do subrogation against Accredited Roofing's insurance). The wrinkle is that Accredited did not do the venting and some other things they were supposed to do under the contract. I think I should be compensated for what they did not do or else they owe me part of the repair of that. Yet, he could not come back and work on the venting, etc. as the whole roof had to be taken off. I called him about paying something toward my troubles (mentioning how his website promises a 100% satisfaction guarantee). He told me to take him to court.  Understand I need to crystalize at this point (since my insurance company and [redacted]'s are paying to have things rectified) what I want Accredited to do or to pay me and what it is based on before you can contact them. I have a lot of records, etc on my computer so I will look at this and think about it and get back with you. Thanks.01/19/2018  Hi [redacted],Thank you for taking the time to speak to me today.  I copied and pasted the charges I feel Accredited should reimburse me below, totaling $1,375.00.  Although, Accredited Roofing did furnish and install the ridge vent and vented soffit because it was not "cut in" they were not properly installed so the venting system would not of worked.  (I have photographic evidence of this should you need it.)  Also some fascia end caps were still missing which I informed Accredited Roofing in writing.Add $375.00 to furnish and install ridge vent on main and dormer ridges (___) initial here to accept.Add $800.00 to furnish and install vented soffit on front and back of property (___) initial here to accept.Add $200.00 to furnish and install new fascia end caps on corners of the house where missing (____) initial here to accept.I think it should be noted that this has been an extreme inconvenience for the past 5 months.  I am very happy with my current contractor who is almost finished with the exterior repairs.  However, I still have an undetermined amount of time, inconvenience, hassle and mess to deal with the repair of the interior plaster damage that encompasses nearly every room in my house.  I would also ask for additional compensation from Accredited Roofing for my time and emotional distress of myself and my family. I think a total compensation of $2000 is more than fair and would put this matter to rest in my opinion.    Sincerely    [redacted]01/22/2018  [left vm on cell phone and sent email that business not going to participate in mediation until after hears from Illinois AG, that I told business consumer desires $2,000. to settle. Also,  complaint could be closed soon since business not participating, but, she could ask to reopen if Illinois AG does not resolve] [redacted] 1:51 PM (36 minutes ago)to me I'm not surprised.   I'll be happy if the complaint is closed and noted that they refused to participate so other consumers can be warned by my experience.  I picked this company because they were A+ rated and Revdex.com accredited.01/23/2018 So, you mentioned to them yesterday I would settle for $2,000.00, but they have not changed their position and will not consider doing anything with Revdex.com mediation while Illinois AG is investigating. Understand you will close the complaint since they chose not to take part in mediation at this time and it may be awhile before Illinois AG makes a decision.

01/22/2018 [redacted] is not in. This is [redacted] and I have been handling Ms. [redacted]' complaint that she filed with the Illinois Attorney General.  Just last week we had additional correspondence with the AG. No offense, and certainly nothing against the Revdex.com, but, I believe we just want to work with the Illinois Attorney General and feel they have priority since our license is regulated here in Illinois. Yes, send me your email address and I will let [redacted] know the Revdex.com has been in touch, we will discuss this, email you correspondence with the AG, and let you know if we wish to work on this both with the Revdex.com and the AG or just the Illinois AG.  The soffit and venting problem amounts to about $875.00.  I will let [redacted] know she would settle for $2,000.00 and we will be back in touch.[emailed [redacted] and [redacted]]Good Day [redacted]I hope this message finds you well.We have taken the position to compensate a portion to the [redacted] for the ridge vent, venting for soffit and the end caps in writing directly to them.  The plaster damage, messes, emotional distress would be the responsibility of [redacted] per our insurance company as they caused the damage.  She will need to take that up thru her settlement with them.  We await instructions from the IL Attorney General before proceeding further with the Revdex.com.   Thank you for your time and consideration.Sincerely,[redacted]Office Manager[correspondence with Illinois AG and other correspondence was attached - see Library][since it can be awhile before Illinois AG makes a decision, emailed business that complaint will be closed since it chose not to participate in nor consider Revdex.com mediation until Illinois AG made a decision]
