Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
The company, Mr Handyman, did not respond to a couple of my major complaints in their response.(1) The materials being billed for $when they actually only costs $40.(2) Most importantly, they did not respond to the fact that they do not appear to be Revdex.com accredited as it claims on their website. I would never have hired them if I knew that.I did ask them to “stop wasting my time”. The technician failed to write down several of the credit card numbers and also wrote down the wrong credit card type. He made that mistake, not me. I tried to pay them, and he failed on his end. Then I got a call to say the card had not went through. I called back to try to pay them. There was no one available for me to pay; so, they said someone would call me back. Basically, a game of phone tag when all I really wanted was to move on from this terrible transaction. At that point, I felt that I needed to report this business’s incompetence.I will give them my credit card information (for the second time) if items (1) & (2) are addressed. I do not appreciate being accused of not holding up my end when it is the technician’s fault for grossly messing up my credit card number.
Regards,

(1) Worker arrived 4 hours later than scheduled. MR.HANDYMAN RESPONSE: Customer was called and told that the technician was going to be late, at that time, the customer had the option of rescheduling to another date and time that he preferred. (2) Worker left to get materials for the job. This took...

nearly 2 hours (I was paying by the hour). Materials picked up from [redacted] which is 15 minutes away from residence. Very unreasonable time frame. MR.HANDYMAN RESPONSE: Customer’s home is 20 minutes away from Menard’s. The technician went into the store researched the material needed to complete the homeowner’s project, and purchased the materials. The technician couldn’t quickly run into the store and run back out he had to look for the right material, color, dimensions, size, etc therefore it took him some time to locate what was needed to complete the job correctly. The technician drove back from the store to the home which took 20 mins. (3) Worker said it was too late in the day to do any "handyman" work, which is why the company was hired. MR.HANDYMAN RESPONSE: When our technician came back he realized that it would be dark soon so he explained to the customer that it would be best to schedule another day to complete the work instead of trying to complete it in the dark when he would not be able to ensure it was done properly. (4) Materials billed for $120. I later discovered materials only cost $40 from [redacted]. Gross overcharge here. MR.HANDYMAN RESPONSE: We do have a markup fee for picking up the materials for our customers, it is not a 962% mark up as the customer stated. The customer has exaggerated on the price of the materials and markup. (5) I selected this company based on its logo of being Revdex.com accredited. According the Revdex.com's website, they are not. If this is true, then that is false advertising. I would not have selected this company without the accreditation. After hourly fees (which was an unreasonable time), materials (which were a gross overcharge), and service fees (no handyman service performed) the bill was $385. Essentially, I ended up being charged $385 for $40 worth of material (nearly a 962% markup). All of this after wasting my time by arriving very late. MR.HANDYMAN RESPONSE: Customer knew that we worked on a time and material basis. Our technician investigated the problem and began working on the solution. He went to the store to get the materials needed to complete the job. Due to the time of day, it was determined that the work could not be completed with 100% accuracy.  Customer was charged for time incurred while onsite investigating the problem, the time it took to get materials, and our mark up for the materials. With that said, this customer has not made any payment for the services that we provided. He has taken the materials that we purchased for him and has not made any plans to repay our company for purchasing the materials. We have tried to collect payment and offer customer a discount for the work but he continuously replies back with the statement “stop wasting his time.” He has also stated he does not want us to come back to complete the work for him. In summary, we went to the customer’s home, investigated his project, bought the materials needed to complete the project and the customer has taken the materials and have not paid us plus he does not want us to come back to complete the work. We entered into a contract with the customer and he is not holding up his end.
