July 20, 2017  Revdex.com 2600 W. Shaw Lane Fresno, CA  93711   Attn: Mirian Carmona Regarding: File # [redacted] I am aware of the homeowner’s issue regarding work we performed at the property.  Below are the details of the work that was performed at the home. We...

performed an inspection on 5/26/17 for the homeowner’s insurance company Mercury Insurance.  We performed a plumbing inspection and found that the drain lines were backing up and they needed to be cleared/replaced.  The insurance did not cover for the work to be performed and it would be up to the homeowner to take care of repairs. The homeowner contracted us to perform the needed work and we arrived at the home to perform the drain repair on 5/31/17.  We removed the vanity and snaked the line.  We then accessed the tile and slab of the floor in the bathroom to expose the drain line.  We found that the blockage/break of the drain line continues under the master shower.  Due to this our scope of work was to change.  We then needed to access the shower pan and tile walls to complete this drain line repair.  Testing for lead and asbestos would be needed prior to performing additional work.  We were unable to continue with any additional work at that time.  The homeowner was charged for the work that was performed only ($ 1,550.00; one thousand five hundred and fifty dollars).  An additional estimate was sent to the owner. PLEASE NOTE:  During slab access we found that the hot galvanized line has failed.  This line is decaying and when the soils were removed from around the line it allowed the decayed pipe to fail.  We did not hit the line or cause damage to the line directly.  The failure is due to the age and condition of the line (house built 1956).  If you view the attached photos you will see that the line is leaking from the bottom and is flaking from the exterior of the line.  This proves that the line was not hit from above with a jackhammer as the homeowner is stating.  We placed a temporary clamp on this line as a courtesy to slow the leakage.  Due to the age and condition of this line we recommended to repipe the hot lines.  There was no negligence on behalf of Accurate Leak that caused this line to fail.  There was a document that our technician on site had the homeowner sign that stated that A.L.L. is not responsible for any leaks that may occur due to the corrosion of the pipes in slab.  Accurate Leak Locators, Inc. can not be held responsible for the condition of the plumbing in a homeowner’s house.  The homeowner is stating that the paperwork was altered to add the word “not” after he signed for it.  However if he has a copy of the paperwork with the word “not” on it how was it added later? The homeowner then attempted to have his insurance company cover for the pipe leak however it was not covered due to it being related to the age and condition of the line and that it had not caused any damages to the home.  The homeowner then sent an email to us on 6/13/17 stating that he was going to proceed with legal action and at that point his file was turned over to our corporate attorney John Siciliano, Esq.  Your letter was addressed to him however was sent to our offices.  Our corporate attorney’s contact information is [redacted], Temecula, CA  92590 ###-###-####.  Our attorney stated that he would handle all other issues concerning this customer. Sincerely,   Tony Falco, CR Accurate Leak Locators, Inc. ###-###-####
