Accurate Plumbing Inc Reviews (3)

Review: I called my home warranty Company, First American Home warranty and they scheduled an appointment for the next day. Accurate plumbing did not show up till after 6pm. Two men came in and one looked at the sink, looked under the sink and turned and said that I had no clean out and that We had to get someone else because they don't climb on roofs to clean out drains. Then he had me sign a paper that only said the companies name and that he was there and there was no clean out., The amount due was zero, Then he took the paper back and while the other man distracted me, the main guy wrote something on the paper. He ripped off the copy and they walked out the door. I stood there wondering what had happened. The next morning I called Roto Rooter and they came out and put a snake down the drain and cleaned out the drain and stopped the leak under the sink, he was there about 20 minutes. I paid Roto Rooter for their service . About a week and a few days go buy and I get a call from the company, (Accurate Plumbing) telling me that $65.00 dollars was due. I say no because the guy could not provide a service and the lady became abrupt and told me I HAD to pay for the service because he told me there was no clean out. I explained to her that the guy didn't show up till after six and her employee looked in the sink under the counter and said he couldn't fix it and I signed that now work had been done. She told me I signed the bill with $65.00 amount due. I looked up the bill and sure enough it said amount due. I told her it said zero when I signed it and I told her I had Roto Rooter come out. She got very upset. I called America First Home Warranty and explained the above. They said they company accurate plumbing had a different version and they already paid them the $65.00 and that I owed THEM, First American Home Warranty the $65.00.

Desired out come is: This company and American First need to be investigated. Something is not on the up and up there. I don't believe I should have to pay for a service I didn't receive and It is not right that this company gets paid just for showing up. I have had other companies come out for other services and if they don't do any work they don't get paid That has always been the policy. I had this home warranty for a rental house I own and I have never had such treatment. I dropped America First Home Warranty. I haven't hear from anyone since I told them I would not pay for a service I didn't receive. This all happened in January 2014, Today June 10 2014, I received a notice from A.R.M. saying I would be sent to collections if I didn't pay First AmericanHome buyers protection for Accurate Plumbing, I will pay because I refuse to let them ruin my good credit. This is absurd treatment and They are not better then common thieves.Desired Settlement: Not to be charged for a service that was not provided. First American Home Warranty and Accurate Plumbing be Investigated for misconduct.

Review: We were referred to Accurate Plumbing by our home warranty company (First American Home Warranty) because of a water leak in our front yard that had gotten progressively worse over the weekend. [redacted] from Accurate Plumbing arrived at our house the morning of 4/8, and after a visual inspection only, diagnosed the issue as a break in our home's main water line. He explained it was not covered by our home warranty policy so we would have to pay the full cost ourselves to replace the line. He called his boss at AP and came back with a cost of $1400 to replace the line and fix the water leak. They would not proceed with work unless we paid them first. Given the flooding in our front yard and what we considered emergency nature of repairing the line, we agreed.

We were presented with two invoices -- one for a service fee for home warranty in the amount of $60, and another invoice for $1400 to replace the main water line. We asked whether we still had to pay the $60 fee because the job isn't covered by home warranty and we're having to pay for a whole separate job ourselves, and [redacted] said everyone has to pay the fee. We wrote out two separate checks for the invoices in order to get the work started. [redacted] explains that he has to wait for his boss and co-worker to show up because he doesn't have shovels to dig out the main line and start the work. Nearly an hour goes by and two other men from AP arrive. I did not speak with them but I understand they brought the proper tools to do the work, and (I learn later) [redacted] apparently gave his boss the checks we had written.

After beginning the work (approx. an hour into it), [redacted] called my wife outside to show her that the dirt all around the main water line to the house is completely dry, and that his initial diagnosis was wrong. He now suspected the issue was with the sprinkler system, and asks my wife to pull blueprints for the house, even asking her to go to the city to request them if we don't have them at the house. The leak was still flowing heavily in the front and she asked why the water was still running; he explained that turning off the water to the house hadn't minimized the leak, and that he is prohibited from turning the city meter/valve off. In my opinion, this should have been a clear sign to a professional plumber that the issue wasn't with any of the house water lines but was an issue with the city main. [redacted] tells my wife that they must have tied in the sprinkler system to the city water line, which is causing the problem. He explains that the fix to the sprinkler system will cost much less than replacement of main water line, and she authorizes him to go forward with the repair with the understanding that the leak would be fixed that day.

Less than an hour later, [redacted] calls my wife back out and explains that the sprinkler/irrigation system is fine, as there are no leaks he sees after digging out the irrigation pipes. He explains that another co-worker ([redacted]) is coming out to with a leak detector. [redacted] arrives about an hour later, and it is apparent that [redacted] is much more experienced and knowledgeable. Within 10 minutes of being there, he diagnoses the issue as a leak in the city line and that the city is responsible for the repair. He instructs my wife to call the city and explains to her exactly what the issue is.

Even though the leak is due to a break in the city line, [redacted] still insists that we still need to replace our main line but that he can't do any work until the city comes and fixes their line. In front of both him and [redacted], my wife asked [redacted] about the checks she had already written that morning, and requested that they give our check for $1400 back since they didn't do any replacement. [redacted] says he gave the check to his boss that morning and doesn't have it. My wife then explicitly requested that the check NOT be deposited until we figure out precisely what work needed to be done by AP, and [redacted] verbally agreed. My wife placed a call with the city, and was told a city inspector would arrive shortly. [redacted] and [redacted] leave.

Approximately two hours later, the city inspector shows up and verifies within 5 minutes (no joke) that the issue is the city's water line. When my wife explains the numerous mis-diagnoses from AP earlier in the day, the city inspector comments that he can't believe professional plumbers took 4 hours to figure out the issue and hints to her that they may be trying to scam her. Later that afternoon, two city workers came to the house and completely fixed the problem within 45 minutes.

The following day, 4/9, we see that AP has deposited both checks we had given them, one in the amount of $60 and the other for $1400, which was supposed to be paid in exchange for completely replacing the main water line to the house. We called Accurate Plumbing several times that week (and in the following weeks) requesting reimbursement of the funds and a corrected invoice for the work performed that day, and each time we talk to someone, we get a different story -- first, we were told on around 4/10 that we would receive a refund in 3-5 days; the next time we were told that they wanted to charge us $580 for the work done that day, which was essentially one hour's worth of labor and a number of mis-diagnoses; a call placed this morning (4/25) was met with indifference and avoidance.

It has been 2 1/2 weeks since AP came to our house, and there is still NO resolution to the fact that they have $1400 of our money for work that was not performed and did not need to be performed. While our complaint raises serious questions about the integrity, professionalism and competency of this company, we just want this resolved and want Accurate Plumbing to refund the money they should never have deposited in the first place.Desired Settlement: We want Accurate Plumbing to refund the $1400 we paid to them for work that was never performed (and did not need to be performed in the first place, since there was nothing wrong with the main water line to our house).

Review: We have insurance with [redacted] for home repairs. We contacted [redacted] in 07/26/15 to do an inspection of repairs that needed to be done in the house. On 9/21/15 Accurate plumbing came to check the house again because they said I had not told them of the things that needed to be done. Accurate plumbing was contacted to install a water heater and to repair the plumbing problem. After 9/21/15 I kept calling them because they did not come. On 09/255/15 Accurate Plumbing came again and checked again but said he couldn't do anything because he didn't have the items that needed to be replaced. On 10/8/15 Accurate Plumbing came and installed the water heater, replaced the wax ring, the handle and the flapper in the hall way toilet. They were supposed to come back and finish the plumbing repairs and they haven't. We have called every week since and they keep saying they are going to come. We are in December now and both Accurate Plumbing and the [redacted] are not responding to our phone calls.Desired Settlement: We want both Accurate Plumbing and [redacted] to work with us to have the repairs completed. We would also like an apology from both entities for the bad customer service they have provided.
