Accutemp, Inc. responded to a service call, called in by Mrs. [redacted], for no air conditioning. After checking the entire system no obvious leaks were found. It was explained to the customer that dye was put in the system that day and a return visit would be necessary to find where the...
dye was leaking from. Upon a follow up visit the technician found a leaky valve in the outdoor unit, which did indeed have to be ordered requiring another visit to install. The technician returned to replace the valve to meet a very disgruntled customer. After being cussed and shouted at, regarding the customer approved cost of fixing this problem; the technician double checked everything and the system was running properly. A second service call was made to Accutemp, Inc. and the indoor unit was covered in ice. Due to the customer’s previous behavior Accutemp reluctantly dispatched a technician, only because Accutemp wanted to be sure their work was done well. As expected, the work was done properly. Unfortunately, the technician found the indoor unit now had a leak; unrelated to first issue, and the frozen unit would have to thaw before anything could be done. The owner of Accutemp, Inc. spoke to the customer to explain what was going on but the customer was hysterically yelling. The customer’s spouse took the phone; it was explained to him that Accutemp, Inc. would not return to fix the new problem because of the verbal abuse multiple employees had endured. The paper work has been started to refund the customer for all service work involved from the very first call so that all business ties can be severed. Accutemp, Inc. is confident that high quality work was completed and fulfilled their duty to the customer to fix the initial service call. Unfortunately, Accutemp, Inc. has had to refuse to dispatch anymore technicians to this residence to protect their employees. Michael Davis, President
