Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because: I did not authorize repairs on my vehicleI only authorized a complete estimate which could not have been done without Ace Autobody and Collision removing the bumperNever at any point when I brought the vehicle in did Henry tell me that there could be additional chargesSignage out front and on the business card advertise for free estimateIt doesn't say if you don't have work done there that putting car back together would cost moneyI have had estimates at other businesses done in the past and never been chargedThe man hours and labor spent in giving me a proper estimate is a risk his company takes on when offering free estimatesSince the damage was minimal and not what my lawyer had feared (car being unsafe to drive) then I opted not to have the work done which is my right by state lawHenry had an obligation to notify me when I authorized the estimate that there could be some chargeHe did not and I believe I am entitled to my money backI never should have been charged to begin with.Sincerely,*** ***

This customer authorized repairs on her Honda Civivc.We wrote an estimate and the insurance company authorized repairs. We started repairs as the customer authorized as to do so. When we called the insurance company for payment, they told us that they already payed Ms [redacted]. We then contacted Ms...
[redacted] and she told us that she spent all the money and didnt have moneyto fix the car and wanted the car back immediately. At this point her bumper and reinforcementswere off the car so we told her that we have already spent multiple hours working on her car and if she wanted us to put her reinforcements and rear bumper back on, then she would have to pay $200.00 for us to put her bumper back on the car, as we were already losing a lot of money in labor hours because she authorized the work and then pulled the vehicle because she spent the repair money. By law we could have charged her for storage, repair time etc which would have been at $1000.00. We thought we were being extremely generous doing all this work and only charging $200.00 to do so.
