Review: We wanted to host a wedding party at Ace Bar. So my (now husband) talked to the [redacted] and discussed how the place could be rented out for $1200 between 4-7pm on Saturday [redacted] May. [redacted] explained that they needed a guaranteed payment of $1200 but that would be taken out of the drink sales, for example, $1200 payment, minus $1000 in drink sales, would mean we only have to pay $200. It sounded acceptable. When we talked to the caterer to provide food (as Ace Bar does not have a kitchen), there were a notable number of restrictions, that caused issues. We looked around at other food vendors, and we selected an alternative place. We contacted [redacted] to inform him, that we would like to change the time of the reservation, and get a new quote. We received a quote of $1900 for two hours, from 7-9pm. Other than the time change, and the price increase, there was never a discussion about any changes to the billing of the reservation. A beloved family friend, who is also a U.S. Army Veteran, paid the bill on the day of the wedding, and unfortunately, he was taken advantage of. We were only informed of the discrepancy many days later.Desired Settlement: Under the original agreement, and that we encouraged all our friends and family members to buy drinks, to lower our expense. We estimate, that we are entitled to a $1400 refund
